Dine And Dash - Caribbean/HCDA
That's a good question. I used the update file option when uploading the new one. It says it was last update on the 16th which would be the updated one since the original was submitted on the 12th. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=422 Check to see if there are a handful of F-16s at the blue airbase. That will be the updated version.

*Scenario Updated* I uploaded the newest version in which the air missions were completely redone and made some other adjustments. Thanks for the feedback. I'll look forward to any more suggestions. And thanks, Brad, for updating the DB.

JSGME for swapping Databases?
So.. I got sick of navigating to my HCE install, copying & pasting from my database folder into the main install folder to switch between DBs all the time. I decided to set up JSGME (Jonesoft Generic Mod Enabler) so all I have to do is run the desktop shortcut and click the DB over/back to switch. I know it's only one file to swap out but it's less of a pain for someone as lazy as myself. http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/...ucts-jsgme.html I'd like to see if we could get a JSGME compatible database compilation (with all the latest) uploaded so it's just a one-click download followed by extracting it to the HCE/MODS/ folder. I like things to be smoove like buttah. I'd be surprised if nobody, here, is using it already. It's been a godsend for modding/switching files. I'll get that thrown together if anyone is interested. The program is freeware so no worries there.

Dine And Dash - Caribbean/HCDA
Thanks for the feedback and great suggestions! I knew there were a couple force facets that needed some adjusting. I'll touch up the ASuW situation and definitely the opfor air. I think the most difficult part, for me, is getting the opposing air missions taken care of. Any tips on repeated air missions and such would be appreciated. I'll update this one soon. I have another scenario completed and just doing some basic testing before I post it for a shakedown. It won't be quite the skin of your teeth nailbiter such as this one as I made it to be played from either side. Hopefully the forces arrayed against each other keep it interesting. Edit: I've adjusted some things but not sure how well the AI will run it. I'm not really sure how effective the air patrol missions are. Will they utilize ESM detections? They seem to just sit around or fly right past fairly often. I realize that getting some a/c with radar detections out there is good but not always reliable. Could use some suggestions.

Alternate Paths help
Excellent. That did it! Thanks, Tony! I think my problem amounted to a failure in unchecking & checking 'Enter New Legs' before and after (respectively) the 'Enter Alternate Path'. It also helped me notice where to edit the alternate paths (in the orders list, of course). I might not have noticed that immediately, otherwise.

Nef's 1 Big Wish
Adding: 2) Intermittent Group Speed Controls. Just like the intermittent radar setup. I'd like to be able to vary speeds during a leg to allow for sprint & drift. As it is, I'm constantly clicking through my sub groups, changing speed to creep for a minute or two, then doing it all over again setting them back to a reasonable cruise speed. On occasion, I do this with some surface groups, too. Keep in mind that I don't want to put my subs in the ASW ring because I often don't want them to "sprint" at 19 knots.. somewhere between 10 to 15 is usually my transit preference for subs. I can get by without micromanaging depth if this could be done but it'd be nice if that was an easy addition. Not only would these keep me from constantly being a Set Speed Window jockey, it'd help quite a bit if it were in the scenario editor, too.

Thanks guys. My big concern with this one is the difficulty. Let me know if it's a little too much because I may need to adjust forces a bit.

Inner Ring (AAW) - Still sprint & drift?
Ok, thanks Brad. I know I read that in a manual somewhere but must've been my older H3 or something.

Inner Ring (AAW) - Still sprint & drift?
I've noticed that my inner AAW ring units just seem to cruise along at the set speed lately. I thought they were supposed to sprint & drift like the ASW ring. Are my wires crossed? Did this change recently or did I get this mixed up with H3? Can I will them to S&D if I stare real hard at the formation editor?

Alternate Paths help
I'll make sure I get a live chicken so the blood smears better on the walls in my alternate pathing voodoo ritual. Also.. was wondering if you can make a separate path for group's alternate starting locations and, if so, how?

Alternate Paths help
I'm not getting much help from the manual on this. After entering a leg or two, I hit Enter Alternate Path and get the "Enter Points for Alternate Path" showing in my dialog box. However, I can't click on the map or move my active waypoint selection via Prev or Next. I'm a little lost as to what to do on that step. I have a good grasp on the way it works, I just don't quite grasp what I need to do with the interface to get them in. I seriously need a primer on the flow of entering an alternate path. Thanks!

Sound Mod
Hey Guys, I edited some of the wav files for HCE (and added/edited a couple thanks to Stalintc). I didn't want to be blown out of my chair & given a heart attack going from dead silence to a loud boom. I also added a couple little extras into some sounds. It's not a huge makeover but gives a few of the sounds a bit more flavor. Submitted the zip in the mod section. http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=421

File Name: Nef's Sound Mod File Submitter: NefariousKoel File Submitted: 8 May 2009 File Updated: 8 May 2009 File Category: Tools/Mods/Docs Authors: NefariousKoel I edited some of the sound files for HCE. Changes include slightly lowering the .wav decibals for some of the sounds that could give you a heart attack. Also, some of the sound's tones were lowered a bit for less screaching and more BOOM. The missile explosions now have a very short rocket sound before the new, less startling, explosion that has turned out very well. Lastly, I added a couple sounds from one of Stalintc's excellent mods and did some editing on the missile launch sound. Thanks to Stalintc. Click here to download this file

DB/Battleset for 80s that's up-to-date?
Ahhh. I mean the HDSA/B/C of the designer series. Does that use the HCDA or are those sets hardcoded on the old stuff? As for EC2003 & Westpac, you're saying that the HCDA has units as far back as '80 for those? Is there an easy way to tell what year a certain model or class entry is for or do I need to dig through the DB for all that info? I'm not always so helpless and full of questions, but I'd like to have a smooth go at the scenario editor when I jump in.

DB/Battleset for 80s that's up-to-date?
I'm wondering what battlesets have the newer HCE features that are based 1980-1990 or so. I believe I saw the included HCDA/S/? or whichever those 3 or 4 are have active jamming working but didn't know if they have the full set of new goodies. Am I correct? Also.. which other battlesets do/don't have the new features? I've noticed the DB80to95 but haven't seen much in the way of created scenarios for it. Could someone point me in the right direction? I've not dove into scenario creation yet (I will sometime), but playing your own scenarios takes a bit of the surprise out of it, doesn't it?

Problems with groups not showing in Group Window
Ehhh.. nevermind. I guess there were just a lot in the airbase formations. The problem was between my keyboard and my chair. Though I'd like to see some indication of air units (that are in the air) in the data window for bases. I think that's why I didn't account for them as their numbers were missing from the other groups and doesn't show anything different for the bases themselves even though they're flying around in their formation rings. I'll call it Accountant Panic. The info window numbers didn't add up! I'm rusty - that's my excuse.

Problems with groups not showing in Group Window
Perhaps those yellow enemy air units on the unit map are old contacts or part of an ID'd group. But the thing that really threw me off is the Mainstay near the northeast of the map. It shows on the unit map as red (and a 1 ship group) but doesn't show on the group map at all. I happened across it when trying to see what type of a/c was in a 4-ship nearby and noticed it in the unit window. I recall getting a staff contact report on it previous to that and didn't see it at all until I stumbled over it in the unit window. As for the ground contacts being separate, I believe that was done by the scenario creator in this instance. That hasn't really bothered me as much as the missing AEW or un-ID'd groups of aircraft (yellow) not showing up on the group map at all, inside a diamond. I don't recall it happening like that in the past.

Problems with groups not showing in Group Window
I don't know what's been wrong, lately. I wiped my Windows install about a month & a half ago. After reinstalling HCE, some enemy groups do not show in the group window. It did that with the 2008.44 version, I reinstalled/repatched HCE and it was still doing it. I updated to v 2009.035 and still no help. All using 090427 DB. It's done it on a couple different battlesets. I have no idea what's going on but I don't recall it doing this a few months ago. My most recent example is the Serhiy scenario I'm going to upload the save for. It's user-created but that hasn't mattered as the stock ones are doing it, too. Anyway, there are a lot of ground & air units detected by ESM/passive means that aren't showing on the group map but show on the unit map. Also, I've noticed an AEW aircraft that has been ID'd and has no yellow diamond yet it only shows on the unit map. I'm not sure if something got splattered when I did two reinstalls again, since it's been awhile.. perhaps I'm missing an earlier patch? 2008.44 said "comprehensive" so I figured it was a fully up-to-date one. Do I also need to install a previous update before that one? Halp! nopassivedetongrp.zip
