May 11, 200917 yr I'm not getting much help from the manual on this. After entering a leg or two, I hit Enter Alternate Path and get the "Enter Points for Alternate Path" showing in my dialog box. However, I can't click on the map or move my active waypoint selection via Prev or Next. I'm a little lost as to what to do on that step. I have a good grasp on the way it works, I just don't quite grasp what I need to do with the interface to get them in. I seriously need a primer on the flow of entering an alternate path. Thanks!
May 11, 200917 yr I think it requires the burning of incense while standing on one foot. Honestly I was able to trick it into working a couple of times and will postulate further if Miller7219 doesn't jump all over it.
May 11, 200917 yr Author I'll make sure I get a live chicken so the blood smears better on the walls in my alternate pathing voodoo ritual. Also.. was wondering if you can make a separate path for group's alternate starting locations and, if so, how?
May 12, 200917 yr Also.. was wondering if you can make a separate path for group's alternate starting locations and, if so, how? That is not a capability present in the game.
May 13, 200917 yr Here's my stab at it. I'm using the 2009.036 SE (available at http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?showtopic=2049 as of this writing). Step 1: Create new group. In my case I add a single submarine to a new blue group, put it in formation then land back at the main window. Step 2: Click the "Course" button. Step 3: Click the "Enter New Legs" checkbox Step 4: Click a couple of spots on the map Step 5: Uncheck "Enter New Legs" checkbox Step 6: Click the "Orders2" menu then "Enter Alternate Path" Step 7: Click the "Enter New Legs" checkbox Step 8: Click a couple of spots on the map Step 9: Click "OK" on the path editor dialog Step 10: Enter percent chance for alternate path and click "OK" Step 11: Click "OK" to get out of the path editor dialog At this point you have an alternate path defined but we can keep going Step 12: Click "Course" to get back into the course editor (note you see your alternate path 'event') Step 13: Click the "Enter New Legs" checkbox Step 14: Click a couple of spots on the map Step 15: Proceed to step 5 to add another alternate path at this point, rinse and repeat as desired.
May 14, 200917 yr Author Excellent. That did it! Thanks, Tony! I think my problem amounted to a failure in unchecking & checking 'Enter New Legs' before and after (respectively) the 'Enter Alternate Path'. It also helped me notice where to edit the alternate paths (in the orders list, of course). I might not have noticed that immediately, otherwise.
