  1. 112 Tomahawks approaching Beja AB! Don´t know where they are coming from. Must be a sub loaden with cruise missiles. Down to 56! Throwing all fighters against this tidal wave. If my base, where the invaluable Tornado fighter bombers are located, survives - then it is my turn. Retaliation will come.
  2. Lisboa AB is attacked by AGM-154s! Luckily, SAMs and air launched missiles get most of them. Moderate damage.
  3. The first air battles rage. There is heavy pressing by at least 50 or 60 F35s directed against my air bases. So far, losses are high on both sides, but I can keep a 2:1 kill ratio in my favour.
  4. AAR: NACV4 Side: Blue On we go. This is the first scenario of this battleset I try. maybe I would be better to start with 1GIU, but IIR each one has its own story. The setup is really interesting: I´m used to play Cold War scenarios and never played a scen in which the Russians build a coalition with European forces. fascinating setup. My first steps are to set up formation patrols, thus no base will fall victim to a surprise attack out of the blue sky. Next step is to bring the long range recon birds and the bombers into waiting positions.
  5. Hi Palex80, I have started playing this one and will write an AAR afterwards. Thank You for writing such interesting scenarios, very much appreciated.
  6. The least I can do. Though I currently lack the time to write scenarios, playing becomes possible, again.
  7. I´m going to do an AAR in return, promised.
  8. Hi Brad, JSF, you already know how the downloads work around here. They are organized by sim (HCE), file type (scenario), and battleset (GIUK). You can also search by author (in this case, Palex80). This particular scenario is here You´re right, I really should know after all these years. have become a little rusty, though because of another long-time absence. Thx for Your hint.
  9. Hi, where can I get this scenario? The link Tony gives doesn´t lead to a 1GIUK or GIU 1 scenario. Or did I miss something? Really would love to play through this GIU series.
  10. Failure! I´ve lost over 20 ac so far and thus a draw is the best I can make. Got all three SA-10 sites, but lost the whole striker package in the attack. Going to retry this one.
  11. All three SA-10 sites are damaged. The HARMs did their job. How to proceed? is it already time for the PGM-armed strikers? Not sure.
  12. My first pair of F-4G Wild Weasel has launched its HARM anti radar missiles at several deadly SA-10 Grumble SAM sites.
  13. Not sure if I conduct this operation in the best way. There are other birds than only Floggers out there, delivering a really tough and stiff resistance. So far the body count is around a dozen for each side and that is not how it should work.
  14. The air battle has begun! My Eagles and Phantoms down a dozen or so Floggers, but several of my birds are destroyed, too.
  15. Last step of my walkthrough: Harpoon ANW UE V 3.10.1 (latest update) Battleset: Cold War Scenario: Black Sea Surprise Side: Nato This is one of the stock scenarios I´ve never played so far. Time to do it. It´s all about deflection I think: using my air assets to deflect hostile ASW and AAW assets in order to plough the way for my sub-launched cruise missiles. what is really missing here is a Sentry AEW aircraft to monitor and coordinate the battle. Half of my birds are launched, the other half is reloaded since the intial loadouts were useless iron bombs.
  16. My Convoy has reached Liverpool. But only eight out of twelve HVUs made it. Orders required ten to come through. Thus it is a draw at best.
  17. While slowly closing in to friendly waters, I get a second sub. The first one was an Alfa class SSGN, fast and furious. This time I sunk an old Echo II missile carrying sub. One of at latest two which fired their Shaddock salvos time ago on my convoy. No match for modern AsW forces.
  18. After futile efforts to attack the hostile SAG I refocused on my one primary goal: to bring the convoy home. Thus I regroup my remaining assets in order to bring up a perfect umbrella along its way.
  19. More bad news: there are missile carrying bombers in the game. Luckily I just got six. But they sunk one escort vessel. I need to place the Eagle fighters right in this threat axis.
  20. New waves of cruise missiles inbound from the North and East. Sandboxes and Shaddocks. Looks like the Russians reloaded both their ships and subs. This time two convoy HVUs are lost. Meanwhile I lost another Nimrod to SAMs. There must be a long shooter inside the Russian SAG. Carrying cruise missiles and deadly Grumble SAMs. Thus a Slava or a Kirov. Bad news.
  21. The first balance sheet: lost all 16 GR 1 Tornados, one Eagle, one Nimrod and two Orions. Terrible. Got four Fulcrums, one Flogger, one Moss AEW and three recce birds in return. The good news: no hostile cruise missile, and there were dozens inbound, made it through my screen. Thus I can return the favour, hunting the subs and ships.
  22. Missile attacks on Escort Force from the North and, obviously sub-launched, from the East. More missile attacks, this time from another submerged contacts. Coming in from the East, heading for the convoy.
  23. Skunks and boogies detected. North to my escort force. A clear and present danger.
  24. Bad idea. All strikers are shot down by hostile fighters and SAM sites. Really rusty, my strategy.
  25. I played this one many years ago. Don´t remember my old tactics. Decision is to counterattack one hostile base with British Tornados.
