  1. I am not sure if you're heckuva lot more optimistic than me, or whether its actually pessimism. Either way, if I'm flying, I think I'd take the time expired SA-7b over the new SA-24 any day and if I'm buying (as the bad guys will be), its going to be the SA-24 that grabs my attention.
  2. Perhaps not so much as far as the conflict in Libya goes, even though SA-24 ranks among the more fearsome MANPADS, but it also means that if and when the regime is defeated, who grabs up any SA-24s and where do they go from there.
  3. A new version of the Harpoon Commander's Edition (HCE) 'Cold War' Database (HCCW-110323) is now available. Get it in the Downloads section of the HarpGamer website. 4. Ut oh, SA-24 Grinch in Libya ... From Aviation Week's Ares blog [excerpt]
  5. No, scenarios are not organized in our Downloads section by database. But each scenario available there for download should indicate to you which database it requires.
  6. CV32 replied to Damascus's topic in General
    Glad to hear it.

Yes, I think you're right. Don't mind me. Too much stuff being processed here today.
  8. From Flight Global [excerpt]
  9. RAF Tornado GR.4s are moving up to Gioa de Colle (Italy). HMS Triumph also confirmed as the Tomahawk shooter.
  10. Pics of the crash site courtesy of The Telegraph Pilot was apparently picked up by a V-22 and the WSO rescued by the rebels.
  11. Another surprising development (from Aviation Week's Ares blog): Libya: Sweden prepares for possible Gripen use
  12. From Aviation Week [excerpt]
  13. Looks like the WSO is safe too. Good to hear. In other news, it was 'interesting' to hear Putin and Medvedev at odds with one another on the issue, publicly.

That's only true if the formation is for an Installation. Submarine, ship and mobile land unit groups can have formations without any unit at the center.
  15. Funny, I didn't see Thanh Hoa Bridge mentioned in your first post. Scenario fixation, perhaps? Heresy, no. Is it the only way to play the scenario? Of course not.
  16. Air Force Times is saying they dropped 45 x 2,000 lb bombs, so I am guessing 15 apiece.
  17. De Gaulle due to arrive tomorrow, amid reports that the French may take the lead on the whole operation. Anyone else hear reports that coalition aircraft actually strafed that pro Qaddafi armor on the road to Ajdabiya?
  18. Looks like the UAE is out as far as sending warplanes are concerned. From DefenseNews: UAE says role in Libya limited to aid
  19. British crews have already started training on US RC-135W's, with combined ops due later in the year. I've delayed creating an RC-135W 'Air Seeker' in the HCDB due to the potential extension of the Nimrod R.1's life service.
  20. Canadian CF-18s have flown their first mission, providing escort for another nation's aircraft performing a strike.
  21. Yes, I read about the composition of the air group somewhere too, but can't remember where, but I am sure the helicopters are intended largely for the CSAR mission.
