I made a scenario involving the French vs United States on the high seas. They have no trouble finding me and shooting my F-35C's down with great regularity. Yet I never seem to find thier? Rafales. I know it is a good plane, but come on it can't be that good. It even hunts down my F-22's with ease. I love this game. Sorry for the complainning. -Rich

I just downloaded the latest Database pdate HCDB 090128. When I went to the platform editor I could not find the new Ships listed. However when I went to the scenario editor They are there. I would like to know where the Virginia Block lll and the Bunker Hill (CM), and the Arliegh Burke Flight lla (CM) are located in the platform editor. Thank you -Tanthier

I tried to use Brad's new database HCDB-050510. Even with the new method, I can't get it to work. I downloaded the file, unzipped it and pasted it into my b06 folder. I got the message asking if I was sure I wanted to replace the old file with the new file, and I agreed. I know it's there because I have a listing for commondb.res, 675kb, modified 5/10/05 at 8:02 PM. I went to the Westpac scenarios adn tired to load the "Bring on the Payne" user scenario. I got about 2 dozen "Get Annex Error" messages. The program opened finally, both the Payne was nowhere to be found and many of the airbases were named Copenhagen. Following the various comments about stealth shoot-downs of AEW birds and other planes, I made up a test scenario and modified some platforms. First I found thru the radar logging that the AEW radars actually do need the LDSD flag, without that flag, radar range is reduced by 50% when detecting any aircraft at an altitude lower than the plane. Brad kindly added the flag to the latest HCDB. Last night I restarted Fred Galano's MedWar scenario and the difference in AEW performance was fantastic. Planes could get close to me but now I could reliably detect even Su-24 aircraft before they could fire on me. Thanks Brad!

Hi guys, Just read some interesting tidbits about Chile's modernization of its Type 23 frigates. A NIPmail piece (August 2011) shows that in mid-2011 they contracted with BAE Systems for an update to the Tracker Type 911 surveillance radar and Thales Underwater Systems for the addition of their 2087 towed-array sonar. The radar tweak is nothing really significant, but from an ASW standpoint, the frigates didn't previously have a towed array. This would give them quite a capability update and expand their capability. This might be benefitial, from a scenario design perspective.

Brad, just downloaded Don´s latest scen, Diego Garcia, which will bring me a lot of fun and nerve-racking battles Included is the F-35 Lightning. I was surprised that both loadouts Intercept and Patrol only allocate four long range missiles to this aicraft. Thought it carried short range IR guided ones, too. Six to eight all in all. Is that bird really so poorly armed and thus not really well suited for dogfight? Regards, Ralf
