  2. The Northrop Grumman RQ-180 is an American stealth unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) surveillance aircraft intended for contested airspace. As of 2019, there had been no images or statements released, but growing evidence points to the existence of the RQ-180 and its use in regular front-line service. After the retirement of the SR-71 Blackbird in 1999, the US Air Force lacked an intelligence platform capable of penetrating airspace guarded by advanced air defense systems. The RQ-180 was designed to fulfill the mission previously accomplished by the high-speed SR-71. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_RQ-180 https://theaviationgeekclub.com/427th-re…

I've been using these in the belly of F35s against ships with devastating results. They seem like cheating. One thing I quickly noticed was that you can launch them at the max range from any altitude, the limited data I could find specified that the range is significantly reduced when lunched from lower altitudes (as expected). Maybe some twweeking of database would be good now this sort of weapon is getting significant range (~60nm), or is it a game engine thing? Its so long since I looked at databases I can't remember if range against launch height can be specified, or is it a 'simulation thing' where the aircraft quickly climbs, releases weapon then descends so is eff…

Hello all. I would like to start the discussion about how we can together find a way to bring the HCDB2 up to date. I could provide a long list of platforms that need to be created or updated, but that's not a good use of space here right now. And players creating and sharing their own databases "willy nilly" will confuse the process and intimidate newer players. So I think one centrally administrated database remains the only solution. The big question is who would be willing to take this on? Brad, I cannot thank you enough for all the work you have put in over the years, and I understand that you probably won't want to do this. But as military technology advances, this…

  11. The ASRAAM (Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile), also known in US as the AIM-132, is a highly maneuverable heat-seeking short-range air-to-air missile produced by the United Kingdom’s MBDA corporation. It was developed in order to replace the aging AIM-9 Sidewinder. The ASRAAM entered service in 1998 and has since been deployed in at least one conflict. The ASRAAM’s effective 10 kg high-explosive fragmentation warhead can be triggered by either a proximity fuse or impact. It has a longer range and more powerful warhead than the US Sidewinder missile. It can be used on the F/A-18, Eurofighter, Typhoon, F-35. The ASRAAM can be used on any aircraft that can a…

The KSS-III submarine, also classified as the Dosan Ahn Changho-class submarines - is a series of diesel-electric attack submarines currently being built for the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN), jointly by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). The KSS-III is the final phase of the Korean Attack Submarine program, a three-phased program to build 27 attack submarines for the ROKN, between 1994–2029. The KSS-III initiative consists of the development of nine diesel-electric attack submarines, capable of firing submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM), to be built in three batches. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KSS…
