Hi all, I saw this article today and it spurred some interest: http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=626...c=SEA&s=TOP Combined with the news about the Varyag almost reaching completion and US talks about selling or updating Taiwan's F-16's, I think there are some cool possibilities for scenarios here. 1. Growing escalations have led to increased US deployment before crisis. A more balanced scenario with the US having 2 CVBGs, increased air power from Kadena and Andersen, and subs already in position in the Strait and near key Chinese strategic areas. Objective would be to eliminate Chinese air and missile bases. 2. Surprise. US CVBG is out of p…

File Name: "Iron Lady" SNS Dedalo, Mediterranean ASW 1989 File Submitter: broncepulido File Submitted: 17 Apr 2011 File Category: MEDC A Mediterranean basically ASW scenario inspired by the old scenario booklets of the Harpoon 3 series of the late 1980s and early 1990s, good for easy gameplay and for testing generic tactics and weapons. Actually is a mix-up of individual naval scenarios as only the Computer Harpoon can provide. And reflecting all the knowledge adquired the last years in some matters, as about Soviet/Russian platforms and forces composition. The scenario is also a tribute to the USS Cabot CVL-28/SNS Dedalo R01 and her American and Spanish crews. De…

Crap. Just Crap. So thought Admiral Konstantin Sidenko as he slid the vodka bottle away across the desk and looked at the telex one more time. Japanese at Yuznho-Kurilsk, and I have to kick them out. And just three months until a nice retirement, the Black Sea villa, the wine cellar, the mistress, oh, the mistress...Crap! What rotten luck. I wonder who told them what lousy shape we're in. He stood up, put the bottle in the cabinet across the room. No more of that for a while. He put some water in the samovar for tea and assessed the situation. In a large sense, he was "screwed" as the Americans put it. Years of low budgets and corruption had sapped the Far East …

Hello! Recently, thanks to a post in Matrix forum, I bought the book STRIKE GROUP REAGAN; being an Harpoon player, I loved it a lot! BTW, as soon as possible, I'm thinking to build a couple of scenarios based on it. Today I discovered another book titled THE SIXTH BATTLE and I bought it as well. So my question is simple ... are there other books enjoyable by an Harpoon player and suitable to be used as a base for scenarios? Thanks in advance! Roberto

File Name: Submarines Galore 1989 !!! File Submitter: broncepulido File Submitted: 09 Apr 2011 File Category: GIUK Submarines Galore 1989!!! A Harpoon Commander's Edition scenario for the EC2003 Battle for GIUK Gap Battleset and the HCDB-130818 1980-2015 Era Platform Database. A submarine-only scenario without other diversions, inspired by some old scenario booklets of the Harpoon 3 series, good for testing submarines, submarine tactics, sonars, torpedoes and other ASW weapons. Perhaps the Western submarines are numerically over-represented, but it's reflecting the original and very reduced in number of submarines paper scenarios. Also it's configured …

Yesterday on TV, I saw a documentary about the Al-Basrah Oil Terminal off the coast of Iraq. Has anyone designed or considered designing a scenario regarding this current situation? And is it even possible? Just being honest, I don't know about the databases to know if there is a way to create the sort of situation that forces in the Gulf are currently facing. Obviously, some sort of civilian airplane attack on the Terminal is not possible, with no civilian type airplanes in the database. Are there any ships that can be created that would be able to try and attack the terminal? The defending forces while centering on a CBG, the primary defens…

File Name: Gauntlet in CommonDB File Submitter: mavfin File Submitted: 30 Mar 2011 File Updated: 4 Apr 2011 File Category: GIUK DB Used: HCDB-110304 Authors: converted original GIUK Battleset-GIUK: .scm - EC2003 - EC2003 This is my first attempt at scenario making for a wider audience than myself. Just the old Gauntlet scenario from the original GIUK battleset, updated for EC2003 GIUK. I had to tweak the air units a bit, and I still haven't gotten the sub close enough to fire torpedoes at me, but, the last time I tried this, a Fencer clipped a merchie with an ARM, and missed the Brave with 2 of the ASMs, but I still won. Take a look at it, and see wh…

Greetings everyone, I just completed my 3rd attempt at Fortress Keflavik scenario. The simulation gave me the opportunity for victory after achieving the minimum conditions, but I decided to try and sink all Red force surface vessles. Mission accomplished. Does this make me some sort of scoundrel? For those of you who have played this particular battle, have you found a way to compeltely anihalate and sink ALL Red Force vessles, surface and sub? Also were you able to do any damage to the Red Force airfields? I sank all the Red Surface forces, and 2 subs at a cost of 10 aircraft. Any ideas or suggestions?

In the ZIP file there is a text file that gives the details of the included exercises so that you can have that open as a separate window for reference during the scenario. For this bonus you pay with stiffer opposition. To save time you might like to use the attack helicopters on some of the easier SAM sites and the MRL unit on the primary target. Something of an introductory exercise. Use standard Database version HCDB-110225 (or newer) and Westac battleset. Most weapons are short range with no ARM for the player so close in work, ECM and planning are necessary. Also the scenario includes as the primary target a "Secret Base".
