Defect Tracking

Repository of user created Defect, Bug, Issue, Feature reports for HC.

Background: This forum encapsulates perhaps the most thorough documentation of sub-optimal performance of HC. Most of the reports demonstrate excellent form and presentation to make addressing defects as easy as possible, use them as a template. The term Defect is used since not everything is a bug; some items are bugs, some are design limitations, some voice a dissenting viewpoint, defect is the term chosen to cover all of the ground.

OP: Username, UNFILED, VerRep: 2017.011

Replace "Username" with your forum username and 2017.011 with the version of the game in which you see the issue.

Hints: A test scenario is better than a saved game. A tiny test scenario targeted at the problem helps track down the issue. The fewer the units in the scenario, the easier to debug as well.

  1. I have encountered a hypersonic Rafael in the You and Me Scenario created in the 2000 Norwegian Sea Battleset. In the test scenario provided I have a blue base in UK in which a single SR71 is based and a second blue base in Norway. The red base contains Rafael C which are put on patrol in the formation editor. Upon launching the SR71 to ferry to the Norwegian base and activated the radar the Rafael C soon goes hypersonic to intercept the SR71. Further testing shows this does not happen with the B or M version of the Rafael. It was brought to my attention that in the 2000 BS the platform display for these three are similar aircraft varying in only the top speed whi…

  2. Observed building the latest scenarios. At start I did think the Red side don't launch antiship missiles from its submarines. This afternoon developed this little test scenario (Mediterranean 2003 theatre) to very this, but the results are at least "strange". 1).- Playing Blue, near the Lebanese coast. The Red AWACS detects our merchant ships, but only the two northernmost submarines, one Royal Navy and other USN lauch their anti-ship missiles (Harpoon, and the USN submarine some 90 minutes later the longer ranged old TASM), but all the others submarine groups (All Russian SSGN) sail by own AI initiative to use torpedoes againts the merchants (also doi…

  3. Greetings All, I am noticing possible errors in how the game engine designates an icon for unknown contacts and/or allows attacking unknown contacts. Apologies if these are known issues. I still have a bunch of reading to do in the forum. Also, once I figure out what test scenario files to upload, will do. Examples: Small RED surface contact - BLUE platform: Bunker Hill class (Monterey (CM)) radiating air and surface radars. Sonar is in passive. - Weather report is perfect with visibility at 19 nm. - A small surface contact is identified by passive sonar at 22 nm. In the scenario the unit (Najin) is designate…

Essaying a new scenario, in the last 6 test or so, when a Russia 636.3 conventional submarine is very near or just below ("0" nm), the ASW torpedo (Stingray Mod 1 torpedo, refused to be launched, and I get this staff message: "Sir, the effective attack range for these aircraft is 4 NM. When F-35 are ordered "to attack" the Russian base, clicking on the own F-35 group (pretending to attack the Flankers in autopatrol entouring Kaliningrad…

  8. use GE 2022.014, database HCDB2-170909, westpac BS In the zip is the scenario used to produce the saved game, (Important) start the scenario with auto formation patrols enabled, this produced the first MCM Sea Dragon patrol unit AA-001 which is patrolling correctly at low alt to the north east. At game start a second Sea Dragon is set via formation editor F3 to patrol to the south west and is unit AA-002, it is patrolling at medium alt and not dropping any markers. (alts can be seen in the toolbox window) In the formation editor box 001 unit is shown as an ASW Patrol, 002 unit as an AEW Patrol. I would expect both instances to patrol at low altitude and in …

Issue Information Issue ID #000157 Issue Type Issue Severity 0 - None Assigned Status UNFILED Version 2016.006 Fixed in Incorrect Speed After LaunchPosted by eeustice on 25 July 2016 - 08:23 PM After launching a F-21C off of CV the F-21C obtained the default altitude but never increased the speed at the default altitude after launch of Med. The f-21 still stayed at the "Low" altitude of speed 700kts instead of assuming the Medium altitude speed of 800kts. It appears that after launch that the speed of AC is not changing automatically after launch when it gets to it's cruising altitude per the speed altitude table from the db. I have included the following: …

Examples: EC2003 IOPG scenarios have some installations with names drawn from HCDA, not HCDB. EC2003 GIUK scenarios have some installations with names drawn from original stock DB, not HCDB. Other possibilities may exist. No savegame necessary. Just open any stock battleset scenario. Issue-111-Installations-annex-mismatch.pdf

  13. Started by mack,

Just playing a user scenario, and saw a flanker being shot down by a green pakistani ship. I saved it, and then the 2nd plane gets shot down as well. The game tells me I've shot down the plane. It seems logical enough that green has shot down the red plane, but my question is this supposed to happen? And would the green ships attack my planes? Should I sink green ships that threaten my forces? I remember one scenario which has a green ship which looks like a merchant cargo ship, but has a nuclear weapon in it's loadout. pakiflanker.zip

I'm playing HDS7 8.0 Cauldron with "Ignore ships running aground" (accidentally) but I don't think this is a reason for the AI surface groups to take a walk across the Crimean. The Kirov group I'm sure have a scenario plotted course going to Odessa, to my Slava group, yet it has just came ashore near Donuslav Lake and heading East-North-East. Could be trying to intercept my AGS group, which is irrelevant f…

  17. Land attack (only) missiles are hitting sea platforms. (another TonyD, Eric70, donaldseadog adventure) zip pack includes saved game LAM1.hpq and the scenario file, LAMissile-hcdb-Westpac,from which it has played, the xml file and the GE from a play of the saved game. In the saved game start a flight of three skipjack bombers have attacked the AD AAm with three vollies of KentC Land Attack missiles, and RTB. This plane /loadout combo can't directly attack sea groups( tested seaprately). The outcome varies with different plays but invariably some Kent over run the AD (or the AD is destroyed) and go on to hit the ship Xiangyanghong 21. The Kent shouldn'…

The Land Attack missiles have odd names. In missile group BJM Target is ZJ003 8X RIM-162D. ZJ003 is a SA-6b missile battery. Missile launched was either a TACOM IV or TLAM-C or D. Kind of confused here on how to right this up. Checked db in both the SE and GE and it appears that I have all the correct missiles in my launchers. If this is a db issue I could not find it.
