Not as grand and sexy as Brad's new addition to the CV32 State Arsenal, I am about 98% complete on a scratch built 1/285-ish Landing Craft Utility. By 1/285-ish, my 1/285 M1 Abrams look just about right when loaded, and during off-load. I captured an image of the LCU from global security. Cropped, resized, colored, printed, cut, used to trace on to styrene, cut styrene, glued my colorized images onto the styrene, glued the styre pieces together. looks pretty good. It is useable, but I feel that I cannot leave it as is. I will attempt to construct the pilothouse tonight with styrene components since the rest of the ships edges are fairly 2-D. Part One

Merry Christmas all, expect some HC builds 1st quarter 2017. I'll mainly be attempting to get the gradual turns and altitude changes in line but maybe a few other fun things will come to fruition along the way!

The pandemic has encroached again leaving us as a family of two full-time working adults with a 100% distance learning child and a daycare child whose room at daycare is closed for two weeks of quarantine. Pray that we don't get sick (the daycare protocols are pretty strict so we're not too worried). See you on the other side!

Is anyone going to NAVCON this year? http://www.navcongames.com/ We're going to try to organize a meet there in 2014. The organizers and H4 Paper game master were easy to contact and have patiently answered my questions while giving me crap for being excited about a convention over a year away. If you aren't going this year, reserve your early October 2014 to come and enjoy watching or participating in some paper Harpoon as well as meet some of the faces behind forum posts.

Just a thought... Command is very similar to Harpoon and it has the same level of quality--excellent information, realism, gameplay, etc. I think it is going to be a very important part of the naval simulation world for some time to come. Maybe it would make sense to "adopt" Command and make Harpgamer a clearinghouse for information about it, too, including forums for discussing it, and a repository for files, scenarios, etc. I'm not sure how hard it would be to add a new set of sub-forms forums for Command to the site, but this seems to me like a natural direction for Harpgamer to take. Any thoughts on this? Mark
