July 15, 200916 yr We're trying to gather as many of the DOS Harpoon 1/Classic versions as possible for inclusion in the 20th Anniversary of the game. If you have old disks, an old install, etc. please consider uploading it for posterity and those lucky people who get to buy a copy of the 20th Anniversary edition. Time is tight, grab your files and head to http://www.harpgamer.com/HC20/upload.php ASAP! Thank you on behalf of HC3, AGSI, and Matrix Games
July 16, 200916 yr *sigh* I saw this post, and I immediately thought to myself, 'Hey, I KNEW there was a reason I was saving all those old floppies. I can cover most of what they want in one fell swoop!' And that's when I realized that neither my desktop nor my laptop actually has a floppy drive ... ... I'll see if family or friends can help me out.
July 16, 200916 yr Author The first user submission has come in, yay, Harpoon 1.51 GE & SE as well as all battlesets thru HDS III. I'll also take this opportunity to mention that patches are good too if say you have the 1.2 to 1.32 patch I'm happy to see those uploaded as well. Nor have I dug too deeply into my own files yet (I know a few patches live at Harpoonpages.com. If people are really nuts about this I do have both 3.5 and 5.25" drives and would be happy to copy data from disks sent to me and return the disks. PM me if you are that devoted . UncleHarpoon did that and provided some real history!
July 16, 200916 yr Author A few more were submitted, thanks Buddha and Wombat! Granted they were Windows versions and not DOS but it won't hurt to have a more complete collection http://www.harpgamer.com/HC20/upload.php
July 16, 200916 yr Tony, If you can use them, I have PDFs of the Harpoon '97 manuals that I recently sent to another group member in response to a request. It's a ZIP file a little over 2 megs if you want it. Just a thought. Buddha

Hi guys, Tony in particular I guess, I've just uplaoaded a file 'harpoon.zip' in hindsight not a good name eh? Tere is in the zip an explanatory file of mine 'aboutthis.txt', but hought I wouls repeat the basics here. The files are direct from my old computer, I can't find the original CD. The game is a demo with I guess original GUIK battleset only. It is a dos game and when you sart it you get info on how to find out about the full game. It was distributed in australia I think early to mid 1990's. If I find the CD rom I'll get back again with the original stuff. Don Thomas
July 18, 200916 yr Author Hi guys, Tony in particular I guess,I've just uplaoaded a file 'harpoon.zip' in hindsight not a good name eh? Don Thomas Thank you, I saw the upload but haven't examined it yet. Hehe, the name was okay, it is tough to know how to name them anyhow and I had the sense to add a random number to the name in case everyone calls their upload harpoon.zip
July 18, 200916 yr Okay, thanks to the good offices of my brother and his old backup server, I just finished uploading a bunch of old DOS versions of the game we all love. More for Tony's information than anything else, the files are as follows: harpxtat.zip --- the original game and GIUK battleset, for IBM XT, AT and compatibles. CGA/EGA/Tandy graphics scned10.zip --- the original scenario editor, compatibility and graphics as above nacvorig.zip --- the original NACV battleset, compatibility and graphics as above medcorig.zip --- the original MEDC battleset, compatibility and graphics as above iopgorig.zip --- the original IOPG battleset, compatibility and graphics as above hds1.zip --- Harpoon Designers' Series I battlesets and game engine. The INSTALL2.BAT file included in the archive is actually the INSTALL.BAT file from Disk 2 of the HDS1 installation diskettes. I had to rename it because there is also an INSTALL.BAT file on Disk 1. The files in this archive are simply copies of the files on the installation diskettes. hds2.zip --- Harpoon Designers' Series II battlesets and game engine. The files in this archive are simply copies of the files on the installation diskettes. harp154a.zip --- Harpoon Classic version 1.54a for DOS. In this case, I installed the game, and then made a .zip archive of the installation. Thank goodness for the old games that just dumped everything into a single directory! harp157a.zip --- the version 1.57a upgrade for DOS. This archive is a copy of the files on the installation diskette. That's all for now, hope this is helpful!
July 26, 200916 yr Author I took stock of everything today and assembled working copies from the various tidbits. The big gaping hole is that I don't have Harpoon version 1.0 yet! Anybody got it hanging around? The planned inclusion list (so far and subject to change): http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?s...ost&p=15410
