jugasa77 Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 On to grander questions, what prompts you to ask all of these questions? Are you writing a manual in which case you should join the beta team, or writing a clone in which case you should just buy the paper rules and get permission to build the game, or??? That´s because I am reading paper rules and they make me think about the game (HCE). I was thinking at was distance a AAM without the "Dogfight" flag would have its Ph halved. It´s useful to know at what distance should my own airplanes use its short range missiles and at what distance should I use medium range missiles. I also had read that, in Harpoon 2, all SARH missiles have a flag called "Home On Jam" and this make me think about an Anti-Radar AAM. Quote

In the game (HCE) there is no distinction between dogfight range and not dogfight range, as a result there is no point at which Ph is halved (or doubled). Quote
CV32 Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Is a AAM with the "Anti-radar" flag able to target an enemy aircraft that has its own radar turned on? Test it and find out I tested it myself some time ago when trying to build an anti-AWACS AAM, sad to say without success. But, by all means, feel free to test it again. I'd be pleased to see it working. Quote
noxious Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Doh, apologies all, got confused with other threads and thought kcdusk wanted paper rules refs... Oooops Quote
jugasa77 Posted January 13, 2009 Author Report Posted January 13, 2009 Test it and find out I have already tested an antiradar AAM and unfortunately it doesn´t work. Two Tornado wearing four modified Sky Flash (with Antiradar flag) each one fired at an incoming enemy air group. It was supposed that if Tornados were shot down before their missiles could reach the target their weapons could continue towards the enemy. Tornados fired missiles at escorting Flankers and they were shot down first. Unfortunately, because Sky Flash are SARH missiles, their weapons disappear at the moment that Tornados were shot down. So "Antiradar" flag didn´t work as I hoped. They couldn´t home on Flankers air search radars. Quote
broncepulido Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 I remember the weapon entry number 18598, AS-17 Krypton (Kh-31 AAM), theorically a anti-AWACS missile, a lot of time in the database ...... Quote
