Harpoon Ultimate commanders Edition

Featured Replies

I bought the game and it came with multiple versions of Harpoon. The Commander Edition I load up there is no scenarios that I can find on my computer that came with it. What am I missing here? Thank you.

Welcome, if the game is taking you automatically into a scenario, go to File\New then answer Yes to quitting your current game.  You should then see the list of BattleSets image.png

when you choose one of those (a few of them do not have built in scenarios, give Western Pacific BattleSet a try) and click OK.  At that point you should be shown a list of the built-in scenarios for that BattleSet.  Does that help?

TonyE Thank you. I figured this out now. I downloaded the scenario China in the Horn, late October 2023. Hypothetical historical scenario. It is a .scv file. The game is looking for a .sc6 file. How do I play this?

Thank you.

Here is a very old tutorial video that may help, https://youtu.be/4yHAXxGep6w?si=FyQvmnKJc6Tx3mIe

.SCv indicates the Middle East BattleSet

For "China in the Horn" you will also need to grab the HCDB2 database. HCDB2-170909 (1980-2025) - Databases - HarpGamer

You picked a challenging start in terms of game setup ;).  It is entirely too difficult to load scenarios that don't come with the game, making it easier is one thing on a very long list of things to improve.

Thank you seems like I missed a few steps on this. The You tube video explains a lot. I really appreciate the help. Have a good Holiday.

How do I find out the victory conditions in HUCE?  I just played Nordic Light Scenario, thought I followed the orders correctly, but ended in a draw.  I've noticed other scenarios are pretty vague about victory condition. Thanks.

I'm sorry it taken so long for any one to reply, I hope you see it.

The traditional way to see vic con is to open the scenario in the scenario editor (wscenedit32.exe or use main huce menu) and go to the file\victory conditions command then look at them in detail. You can also see a simplified version if you use the misc\analyse scenario command.

Also, many scenarios are vague about victory conditions trying to simulate "fog of war", because usually you don't know very well the enemy, its forces or its aims and targets.
