June 26, 200818 yr Does NATO used the same gear as US forces? I know they use the same rifle rounds and such, but do they fly the same cargo planes, choppers, Humvees, ect?
June 27, 200818 yr Short answer, yes. Medium answer, a lot of NATO equipment has US origins but there's quite a bit of European kit and stuff from other countries too. Long answer, just way too long to put here.
June 28, 200817 yr Many use the AIM-9 family of IR missiles. A European developed aircraft is the Eurofighter Typhoon, which can carry the AIM-120 AMRAAM. Like CV32 said, very complex subject.

Then look at specific areas like NATO members and which attack aircraft they use, move on to ships, ordnance, etc.

For military aircraft, I rather like Scramble (http://www.scramble.nl/airforces/index.html), but again, Wikipedia is pretty decent, too; just search for "(country name) air force". Hope this helps ...
