June 14, 201510 yr Minor issue: - 60661 VLS mount Mk 41 8 cell VLS Huitfeldt has Rate Of Fire=0, it will probably don't shoot, change value perhaps to 8. The SMART-L and APAR are highly complementary, in the sense that SMART-L is a L band radar providing very long range surveillance while APAR is an I band radar providing precise target tracking, a highly capable horizon search capability, and missile guidance using the Interrupted Continuous Wave Illumination (ICWI) technique, thus allowing guidance of 32 semi-active radar homing missiles in flight simultaneously, including 16 in the terminal guidance phase.[32 SAM in flight at the same time, or 8 for each one of the four VLS launchers. Also in ship entry 3044 Ivar Huitfeldt: - Guns changes: - fwd 127mm gun replaced by 2x76mm Super Rapid, very probably taked from the deleted Flyvefisken class (see photos, text description not match). - 35mm Millenium is now only in the aft position (also see photos). - Perhaps replace one of the VLS SAM modules for mount entry 60457 with 8xRMG-84L Block II Harpoon. June 14, 201510 yr Add, if possible, Hameenmaa-class Finnish minelayer (perhaps confused with the same name ships of the old Riga-class employed by Finland, ship entry 3853): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%A4meenmaa-class_minelayer
June 14, 201510 yr Add, if possible, Hameenmaa-class Finnish minelayer (perhaps confused with the same name ships of the old Riga-class employed by Finland, ship entry 3853): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C3%A4meenmaa-class_minelayer The Finns recycled the name 'Hameenmaa' when they commissioned the new purpose built minelayers in 1992. It is unlikely that I will be adding the class. Maybe if these minelayers actually could lay mines. I suggest using the Pansio class and renaming one of its units Hameenmaa if its really needed for your BALTOPS scenario.
September 11, 201510 yr Yuan-class submarine (entry 6313) should be equipped with SQG-207 sonar flank array, two convergence zones capable (currently in the DB, entry 47495, in use in the Shang Type 093 SSN variants), perhaps a game-changer in some recent South East Asia scenarios. As consequence of this Carlson's article: http://news.usni.org/2015/08/31/essay-inside-the-design-of-chinas-yuan-class-submarine Refered by Brad and commented here: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/topic/25261-inside-the-design-of-chinas-yuan-class-submarine/&do=findComment&comment=49229

September 18, 201510 yr Update coming soon, and will include a number of Westpac oriented units. Any last requests for additions or fixes?
September 19, 201510 yr None prioritary, this one (as many because the limitated space in the DB) is for keep record. Just a few minutes ago perousing on the Atlantique 2 ground attack capabilities: - From July 2008 4xGBU-12B/C/D Paveway II (entry 30746) in bomb bay. Operational use in Africa and Syria, at least. - From 2017 with an unespecified pod will be capable to self-design targets. En attendant l'éclairage laser nécessaire au guidage de la bombe est effectué par un autre avion, un drone ou un TacP (contrôleur aérien avancé) au sol General and interesting information on French Paveways (the advanced GBU-49, in use in Super Etendard from 2007 and in Mirage 2000D from 2008?, should be the employed by Rafale variants, perhaps replace entry 31070 (BANG 250 LGB) with the more advanced entry 18931 (GBU-49/B (EGBU-12) in loadout 55540): https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paveway http://www.ffaa.net/weapons/paveway/paveway_fr.htm The previous BANG series of LGB, as explayed in the previous link, are US Paveway kits employed in the French dumb bombs stock. No link here, perhaps a temporary situation: http://www.ffaa.net/aircraft/atlantique/atlantique.htm And I observed some months ago in the great netmarine.net site (about French Navy) the very detailed planes, ships, sensors and weapons in service are deleted, perhaps as consequence of some copyright issue. As example, only old planes here: http://www.netmarine.net/aero/index.htm And the complete "Batiments en Service" (ships in service) section is all deleted! FORGET IT ABOUT ADD A PAVEWAY LOADOUT IN ATLANTIQUE 2, I SEE THE PAVEWAYS WERE INCLUYED IN LOADOUT 56186 IN SOME UPDATE! I keep the entry because the links and comments.
September 19, 201510 yr I see in loadout 47299 they're two entries with TSM 8062 sonobouys. In my experience in this case the plane will drop two sonobouys, one of each entry/row/line on each stop, I think is better to replace it by a single 140 sonobouys line (or perhaps was the other line for other type of sonobouys?). Also the apparently sonobouys loadout should be 154 (3x18+100, A-Size?), from the side description in the French Wikipedia entry of Atlantique 2. Also, the advanced TSM 8062 Sonobouy (CZ-capable) in loadout 55305 is F-Size (one third the A-Size sonobouy. Named A/3 size in France), and probably Atlantique 2 should carry more than 154 on that loadout: 1 LBP avec 3 paniers de 18 bouées sonar et 1 LBS avec plus de 100 bouées supplémentaires (ATL2), 1 lance-cartouches avec 40 leurres thermiques antimissiles ou 40 fusées élairantes, Also mentions 40xIR decoys (ALE-39/40?)
September 19, 201510 yr I think now all the UK Valiant and Churchill classes should be equipped with Sonar 2001 in liue of Sonar 2020 just to end of their operative life. - Sonar 2020 was introduced in service only in 1985 (see adjunt file obtained years ago in Internet as usual open source googling for Sonar 2016, but now I don't find this concrete or similar content files in Internet from some years ago) and very probably not installed for the few years of service remaining on the boats, the last of both classed deleted in 1994. The adjunt file is 1998, Valiant was deleted in 1994 and Courageous in 1992, and are not mentioned as equipped with Sonar 2020. The Swiftsure-class was reffited with Sonar 2020 (the 2074 variant), but perhaps not the first boat The first production model was delivered to the Royal Navy in October 1982. HMS Tireless, which commissioned in October 1985, was the first ship to be equipped with a production model Type 2020. HMS Trafalgar had a prototype model installed in 1981, which was intended for replacement with a production model. - This point was suggested by some e-mail traffic in the Admiralty Trilogy Group the last weeks, with a SSN Valiant veteran (MM) writing about it. I know the usual Jane's, Conway's and Chant mention Valiant/Churchill as equipped with Sonar 2020, but I think it's clearly not true. Also, don't forget this old link for UK sonar types: http://jproc.ca/rrp/rrp2/oberon_sonar.html In consequence, I did modify the Valiant/Churchill/Switfsure/Trafalgar comments of November 2011, to clear and clarify them for ulterior reference: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/topic/23387-requests-for-the-hcdb-official-database-of-hce/page-28 and adding this note: Post modified 17 September 2015, because some "new" old Jane's and an e-mail interchange in the Admiral Trilogy Group (thanks for your very interesting comments and info, MM) motivated me to revise the data. Sonar 2020 was in active service only from 1985 and almost sure never employed in Valiant and Churchill classes, both sub-classes employing Sonar 2001 as main hull sonar from start to end of career. Also Sonar 197 was a passive ranging/intercept sonar (perhaps an UK version of the French DUUG-1), replaced near 1985 by Sonar 2019 PARIS passive (some source. as Chris Chant, says active/passive, but I doubt it very much) longer range ranging/intercept sonar, an UK version of the French DUUG-1. I haven't seen any credible source that mentions more than 140 sonobuoys. You have to be mindful that the Atlantique also carries smoke markers, flares (not referring to IR countermeasures), etc, that might be added to disposable stores capacity in some numbers. For example, Jane's All the World's Aircraft 1998-99: 4x day/night marker compartments (capacity 69) 4x automatic sonobuoy launchers (capacity 72 "A" or "F" size chutes) 4x reloadable sonobuoy launchers ("A", "F", "G" size and one free fall chute) Sonobuoy storage capacity: 60 Retro launcher and storage capacity: 32 Flare launcher and storage capacity: 60
October 3, 201510 yr I see missile entry 18746 PL-8 in HCDB has the flags "Semi-active guidance" and "radar guided", when is clearly a short range IR guided dogfight missile based on Python 3. The flags should be changed to "Dogfight" and "IR/Laser guidance" (probably detected it years ago, but I did modify it on my personal use DB and forgot about the issue!). Also, PL-8 (from 2005 only in use the PL-5B variant?) is the usual Chinese short range AAM, not PL-9, PL-9 is mainly for export. http://chinese-military-aviation.blogspot.com.es/p/missiles-i.html http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-PLA-AAM.html
October 3, 201510 yr Yeah, I have been doing some work on the Chinese AAMs lately (most new platforms are Westpac oriented) and it is still underway.
October 3, 201510 yr Yeah, I'm checking some Chinese elements previously to play Tesseract, hehe (as I did say, I regret I did not keep notes on Chinese HCDB doubts some time ago). I see loadout 56789 ASuW for J-11B, J-11D and J-16 Flying Shark is equipped with 19046 KD-88 missile (only DB use of KD-88). But KD-88 is a land attack missile, not an anti-ship missile (In the HCDB at least is configured with the anti-ship flag), I think we should replace KD-88 with true anti-ship air-launched YJ-82/C802K variant of entry 18678 CSS-N-8 Saccade (C802) (also designated apparently C802/CSS-N-8 Saccade/Noor/Koor ). KD-88 is perhaps only employed by JH-7A. But of course the Chinese missile designations and true type are yet something confuse (and from some months ago sinodefence.com and Chinese Wikipedia have deleted the old articles on modern Chinese weapon systems): http://errymath.blogspot.com/2014/04/kd-63yj-63-and-kd-88yj-83k-air-launched.html#.Vg_2Xvntmko https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C-802 http://chinese-military-aviation.blogspot.com.es/p/missiles-ii.html(were is included a note of KD-88 as suitable of anti-ship use!). http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-PLA-Cruise-Missiles.html#mozTocId689888(also Dr. Kopp considers the use of KD-88 as anti-ship missile). Not directly related, but interesting page: http://www.ausairpower.net/APA-PLA-GBU.html#mozTocId819429
October 4, 201510 yr But of course the Chinese missile designations and true type are yet something confuse Very true.
