October 5, 200718 yr Author We haven't played much of anything lately, actually. Not just FA, but no SH3 or RO either. Real life intervenes sometimes. That said, I'd be good with a 'scheduled' event. the old G suit definitely would kill me right now but a scheduled event sounds promising.
October 5, 200718 yr Alright then, one of you "busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest " folks throw out a couple of date/times so that we may collectively decide on when to meet.
October 6, 200718 yr Author I know it is late notice but I'll be gaming in about 45 minutes and would welcome some wingmen and targets...
October 8, 200718 yr Author Brad and I flew a couple of missions today (and a couple Saturday). I tried out the B-1 against a number of artillery emplacements with excellent results. It must be a fairly stealthy bird in FA as I didn't even get painted or shot at by the plethora of air defense. Let me just add that the 7 packs of 1000lb bombs did a nice job despite my early fears of missing every target. After that mission we did what turned out to be a tough one, taking out the air defenses of a convoy. I died multiple times trying to kill the airplanes at an airfield, oops... Gotta go.
November 18, 200718 yr Author Okay, a most important plea for help. I cannot get past mission 36 of the Baltics campaign. The mission is called GUNFIGHT. It can be found on page 42 of the Single Mission listing when doing the following... To see a lot more single missions... at the main FA screen, hold down your [Right Alt], [Right Ctrl], [Right-Shift] keys and click Single Mission with them still held down. Available Aircraft: B-2 F-117 F-35C F-22 F-16C Su-35 EF-2000 Gripen How can I beat this mission? General strategies so far: Rush in fast with F-22 - defeated as I could not take out the ground targets before being overwhelmed by fighters, one of the more successful tactics though. Sit on the ground for game hours with the B-2 hoping for fighter cover to clear - defeated, the defenses were still too thick despite a number of defending aircraft running out of fuel. Turns out the scenario has a time limit too. EF-2000 pound it out - more weapons so this isn't a horrible approach, your escorting fighters have to do a heck of a job though, so far this approach hasn't worked either.
December 6, 200817 yr Have longed for, and now successfully searched for and located Disk 1, Disk 2 (not co-located), Reference Card, and Users Manual. Dug out SW Pro, dusted and hopefully calibrated. Hope to get in some mid 60's to early 70's SEA missions in sometime soon. Maybe some multiplayer early in 09? Start digging boys.
December 7, 200817 yr Author Found it right next to the night stand hiding in plain sight Now, will it all run on Vista 64... Could be a challenge.
December 8, 200817 yr Now, will it all run on Vista 64... Could be a challenge. Give it a whirl and please let me know when you are ready. I have not had a chance to start yet either.
December 8, 200817 yr Tony was able to determine that FA will run on Vista 64, so that gives me a reason to install it on my PC too.

Cool, I'll need to get re-acquainted and modestly proficient at controlling my aircraft. Looking forward to trying to hook up with you all again and preferrable not watch from the ground in my hide position waiting for the Spads and Jolly Green Giants to come and get me.
December 8, 200817 yr ... preferrable not watch from the ground in my hide position waiting for the Spads and Jolly Green Giants to come and get me. LOL. Keep your head down, Bat 21.
December 8, 200817 yr Author Vista 64 On my machine the game would not accept keyboard input until I modified my shortcut to FA, right-click your shortcut, click Properties. Then go to the compatibility tab, the only one I had to check was "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and selected "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". I don't know if you'll have to do the same or not.
