Editor's note: Platform's ventilation accepted and planned for integration to HUD-4 future versions

Great work and great effort in the DB evolution, Gunny, but .... ventilation ? ;)

That is very kind.

If you do incorporate, might I suggest that it is as Apache AH1, since the probability of anyone other than the British Army Air Corps buying Apaches from Westlands rather than the US is practically nil. Other than the chain-gun, the loadout should be AGM-114Ks, Ls or Ns, plus CRV-7: the mention of air-to-air missiles on the wiki page is fantasy, since the AAC will never go down that route and as I say, there are no other sales opportunities expected for the WA variant. The ordnance actually expended on Ellamy was all K, N, CRV-7 and 30mm, plus chaff/flares. 30mm was used in the one Apache maritime engagement vs the Libyan SF RHIBs.

Incidentally, HMS Ocean's magazine will then need a major rework. There is currently in the DB a lot of fantasy ordnance listed for it anyway - Sidewinders, BL755, GBUs. I presume that was because someone postulated a "Harrier carrier" role for Ocean? The Royal Navy would never ever have flown Harriers operationally from Ocean, and the magazine consequently is simply not configured to handle those sort of weapons and the changes that would have been required would have been, I suspect, non-trivial. There are also currently the early marks of Hellfire (A-C) listed, which again would never have been carried, since 1) the Apache deployment for Cougar / Ellamy this year was the first ever deployment of Hellfire on the ship (following, I believe, magazine mods and/or certification), and 2) as far as I know, the AH1 has never deployed with any mark of Hellfire older than the K.

As one who has just returned to Harpoon after many years absence, can I just say heartfelt thanks for the efforts made to keep the databases current.

Hi David,

Thanks a lot for your valuable input. As for now, HUD-4 v1.0 is closed to new platforms, but I've already started to work on v1.1 which will include your suggestion. General convention to name aircraft is the manufacturer's designation, so it will be the "WAH-64 Apache (AH-1)"

Best regards,

FG

Excuse me broncepulido... let's call it "professional distortion" I meant "creation of all platforms" ;)

Fair enough - just that the RAF-only marks of Tornado, for example, are down as GR4, F3, etc. Look forward to 1.1 in due course: in no hurry as slowly getting to grips with the programme once again :)

Thanks again for all the work thus far.

Here's my schedule: HUD-4 v1.0: will be released at the same time as Harpoon Ultimate Edition 3.11

HUD-4 v1.1: work in progress: expect to have a beta 1 shortly after official v1.0 release, the size of it depending of course on personnal availability...

Editor's note: Platform integrated to HUD-4 v1.1B1. 2 separate entries: 1 civilian version (Learjet 35), 1 military (C-21A)

Editor's note: Platform integrated to HUD-4 v1.1 3 variants created: original design, carrier version and Tejas Mk2 (improved engines).
