January 12, 201115 yr Author Perfect, thank you! The prices for Harpoon on page 29 of the full issue are noteworthy too.
January 12, 201115 yr Yike! That sure was a big hunk of salary then. Very nice article, well worth a look; and thumbing through the pages was fun, too. Check out the 360 Pacific blurb on page 88.
January 12, 201115 yr I remember Patriot by 360. Anyone who thinks Harpoon is hard to master the mechanics of should give that one a shot. I don't think I ever did fully figure it out. Buddha

I think I still have Patriot, including the box and floppies, kicking around here somewhere. Can't say I ever got a good grip on it either, let alone master it.

Buddha do you remember Tornado? If you'referring to the flight sim in the attached box shot, I've never played it, but the HOTU has it listed as an abandonware download. I'm not sure of the legality of obtaining it that way though. Buddha

Buddha I still have it (Patriot), that and Megafortress. That was a FUN one.....I wonder if I can crank that up in DosBox.
January 12, 201115 yr The Tornado flight sim had a really nice mission editor back in the day. I remember spending nearly as much time planning my strikes with it than delivering it. It was a great game for its time!
January 13, 201115 yr I seem to recall once reading that the RAF like the mission planner in "Tornado" so much that they rewrote the real one to be more like the one in the game ...

I spent quite some time fooling with Patriot, back in the day, especially fiddling with the OB's. I remember thinking that it must have shared significant amounts of code with the then-current version of Harpoon, because it shared some of the same glitches, especially a tendency for random units in the centre of your formation to go haring off to your rear without warning!
