  1. Operations are underway to retake the Island of Pagan which contains an unsupplied American division and an aviation regiment. Dewayne has brought in his surface fleets (including several Battleships) and started hurling his air force at me from the Bonin Island group. He managed to reinforce with another unit onto the island but we've had several pretty impressive surface battles (BB vrs BB) and as far as I can tell, I have come out ontop. In order to save his units on Pagan, Dewayne will probably need to bring in the remaining CVs but I could be wrong (it has happened before, just not often ). I'll post up the action here shortly. Sincerely Kelly
  2. Hmm, seems Dewayne's ego is again run amoke. Dewayne still refuses to escort his convoys and I netted another 5 or 6 ships from my mobile strike group. I doubt Dewayne is ever going to make any friends in the navy or merchant marines. As for China, Dewayne is scrambling to get forces to Sian before my huge stack of ground forces kicks in the front door. I don't think he can hold with what he has there, plus I'm starting to pound on Sian from the air. Java however, is really not going well for me. Dewayne has dug up every spare unit and shoved them there to defend the last two cities and I can't seem to punch a hole thru his defenses. Plans are however, underway to correct this little annoyance. Sincerely Kelly-san
  3. Okay maybe I have my class of subs messed up. I haven't really went looking into the latest country ship/sub assets lately well actually quite awhile. Kelly
  4. Yeah it's pretty much a slugfest in china and around the map at certain areas, Java being another. Dewayne can afford these, I cannot but that's life as the Japanese Emperor. We're currently at the tail end of November now (I think the 29th now). So the coming year should be interesting for everyone though I am in it deep. ciao Kelly
  5. I find it rather strange that this would happen, while it's not surprising that our 'allies' like Germany and Aussies have done this to us those Song SSKs are ancient in every sense of the word. Either someone screwed up (and probably going to get fired) or they (the USN that is) knew the sub was there and chose to ignore it. Sincerely Kelly
  6. Oops forgot the update on Saturday, too busy messing around that day. Anyway here we go. The overall naval situation hasn't changed much, no one is launching any carrier raids and Dewayne seems currently content with pounding me into dust from the air. Here's a pic from the northern HI area with the damage to the probably entry point for the Allies to the Home Islands. Dewayne isn't holding anything back and there isn't much I can do to fight him off at this point. In the central Pacific it's pretty much the same situation for Kwajalein Island with the daily airraids from nearby allied controlled Ent. Island. Pagan Island on the otherhand, continues to get bashed by me on a daily basis (only seems fair). In the Indian Ocean region things are the same here as well execpt that Dewayne has resupplied and replenished his decimated airgroups at Java. Just north of there the Allied activity continues around their base at Kaula. Nothing else in this area besides the daily bombings by allied bombers against Tavoy and my Tank corps. Now on to the highlight of today: Northern China. I finally managed to take Kungchang, driving no less then 18 units 'across' the river and 1 unit to the south on the road to Siam. Dewayne has a major problem now because most of his units are in terrain that will take 'forever' to get to a main road. He has a total of 3 units in Siam, 8 units just to the north, 1 more retreating south from Kungchang with which to hold Siam. I sense victory here. Once Siam falls to my mighty Empieral stormtroopers I'll be in a great position with several different options and directions in which to make Dewayne's life a real pain. I think it's safe to say we both have plans and are just waiting for the right moment to unlease hell on each other. See you again in a few days with another update. Sincerely Emperor supreme Kelly-san
  7. Time for another update since it's been awhile. I'll do a full one with pics on saturday if all goes well, my schedule has changed now so things are a little weird for me as I adjust. There hasn't been much change overall, with the exception of Java, where I hammered his airfields there but couldn't maintain the bombardments and eventually he repaired the damage. Java is a main weakness right now. A lot of firepower is stuck there trying to crush the built up allied forces. I did manage to take the port to the southwest of Soerabaja only to have Dewayne launch an invasion with another division to route my forces. In China things have been going well, I've reduced some of his forts at Kungchang and he's trying to send forces up from Siam but not getting there as I have a blocking force that required him to make a river crossing (which is a auto shock attack) He managed to dislodge some of my roadblock but not all of them and I think I can hold now until I force out his units at Kungchang. No major battles to report on the high seas, just the usual back and forth for now. More on saturday. Emperor Kelly-san
  8. Well things are getting slowly sorted out at work, so hopefully I can get some more playing time in. As far as the game goes we haven't done many turns but nothing really has changed much. I did manage to drop a fort in the northern chinese city of Kungchang but the following day I ran into a wall of chinese soldiers so it's time to rebuild my forces and then try again. The rest of the areas have seem mostly air activity but nothing really to note.
  9. Hi all, Okay here's a update with pics no less. Sorry about the slowness lately but my boss hasn't returned and it looks like he's not going too (He's out of the hospital now which is good but the stress level just is too much for his ticker). The game turn is 10/25/42 Okat let's start in the northern Pacific: Dewayne's air force seems to be slowing down operations up around the Home Islands, he's suffered pretty heavy operational losses due to weather. In the central Pacific: Dewayne has reinforced Eniwetok Island and launching air raids against Kwajalein atoll: The situation in this area is grim and I'm trying to strip out my forces while leaving behind something to make him think twice about invading here. I don't think he will. He's pretty obsessed with the Home Islands. Here's the damage to Pagan Island to date, this island is too far away for Dewayne to support properly from his other airfields in the central Pacific which is good news for me, at least for now anyways: China: Not much has changed here other then I've managed to push Dewayne down into Siam and own the road to the north where both our forces seem to be on an even footing. This will change as I bring my air forces to bear. Burma area: Dewayne continues to build up at Kaula and there's not much I can do right now except continue to chip away at him. Java region: Dewayne continues to hold here though probably not for much longer unless he can force a turning of the tides as my forces are outnumbering his and I've got plenty of supply flowing in. And finally the scoreboard: All in all I think Japan will not survive to see 1944. I think Dewayne is merely waiting for more forces while repairing the damage I already inflicted upon him up to this point. Now's it nothing more then a waiting game for the other shoe to drop (along with acouple of atomic bombs). I however, don't plan on letting this happen without a fight. He wants the Home Islands, that's fine. He's going to have to pay a price in blood for them first.
  10. Trust me, this is the calm before the storm. Both sides are moving units all over the place. I think there's at least 3 points Dewayne is working on as forward offensive launch pads. As for me, I'm not saying just yet . Security ya know.... Sincerely Kelly-san
  11. I think I sank all your CVs (well 2/3 rds of them anyways). Dewayne is right though, there isn't much going on as we move stuff around and await the other shoe to drop from either side. Shouldn't be too much longer before that happens though. I should have some time tomorrow to do a proper update with pics and all that stuff. Sincerely KellyC
  12. A quickie update... Dewayne and I've reached October 10th or so. Not much really has been happening other then what's been described beforehand. We're still trading airstrikes and I seem to keep coming out ontop. We're both moving units around on the board and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop from Dewayne while making my own plans. No CV battles since the clash at Port Moresby and no other major surface clashes as of late either. Seems to be the calm before the storm. Sincerely Kelly-san
  13. Hmm Dewayne's pretty good at the propaganda deal but sorry to say he's full of it. Yes he has made some great and early headway against the mighty Japanese empire, at some point the wheels are going to fall off his wagon. On a side note, the game is going very slowly at this point due to my job cuz my boss' heart decided it was time for them both to spend some quality time in the hospital (I figured he didn't have a heart so go figure...). Hopefully in a week or two (I WAS supposed to get my second summer vacation starting on Labor day but...) I can get this back on track. Take care fellas... Sincerely Kelly-san Emperor of Japan for all time
  14. I figured I can get some Japanese to the moon, once Dewayne drops 'the bomb' they should be able to reach orbit at the very least . Sincerely Kelly-san
  15. Well that's good, cuz when I invade Hawaii from that direction, at least it'll be a surprise... Sincerely Kelly-san
  16. Quick update here. Dewayne and I've been trading airstrikes with varying degrees of luck. Both sides have suffered heavily though. There was a minor CV skirmish in the Coral Sea. Looked like the Brit CV fleet was heading back to Oz from Rabaul and ran into my mobile strike group. It was a one-sided affair with only my side launching strikes but my air fleet arm has been seriously weakened following the battle off Port Moresby so all I managed to do was torp Warspite and one of the Brit CVs, I don't think either is in danger of sinking. Not sure why Dewayne's CVs didn't launch their own strikes (I got lucky in this). He did however, chew up more of my pilots and planes for little return. Forces continue to manuver around looking for openings on both sides. Dewayne's going to have to make some tough decisions in Northern China soon . If he doesn't reinforce that region I should be able to take Sian and other major cities in the area. Once this is done, I should have quite afew more forces freed up for operations in other areas. That's it for now. Sincerely Kelly-san
  17. I've already challenged Dewayne to another game but hopefully someone will take you up on that, btw you might want to check out the Matrix forums (matrix.com) and look under war in the pacific, struggle against japan. The forums there are pretty active and you'll find an opponent. If you don't, let me know and maybe we can sort something out. Hope this helps Sincerely Kelly
  18. To summerize the war currently, I'd say I'm screwed but then again I'm playing Japan against an enemy that's only going to get bigger and badder as the months pass along. Dewayne's stopped most of my offensives pretty much in their tracks. If I can't get Java under the Japanese heel soon I'm going to be in deep doo-doo. I've got alot of firepower sitting in Java just doing bombardment missions because I can't break the Allied airpower over the Island. On the whole I think I've done a great job of smashing up the Allied navies though. Dewayne's operations have to take place under the watchful eyes of the USAAF otherwise I'd sink the rest of his ships This war has been badly run from my side of things and I'm sure I'd be long since replaced following the disaster at Port Moresby (lack of a simple little thing as recon would have prevented my KB from getting the crap smacked out of it). Though I think it's fair to say that Dewayne would have been replaced after I mauled his CV groups off Paula toward the beginning months of the war. When I stumbled upon his BB group heading to the States, that was the icing on the cake . The nice thing about games is I don't have to worry about the firing squad after I make a nasty (and stupid!) mistake. I'm sure Dewayne will pipe in here at some point and give his thoughts as well. That's enough for now Sincerely Kelly-san
  19. Okay well we can't be having people suffering unless it's good for the Empire so....here's the update such as it is. We're up to september 14th or 15th now. Dewayne has moved his few remaining CVs into Toyohara area heavily supported by Land Based Air (LBA) and is running bombing missions against the mainland from there. He's mainly targeting the northern Island areas so far but I'm sure he'll be expanding further south as he goes. Not a whole lot going on in the Bay of Bengal and Burma area, mainly Dewayne is doing his usual bombing missions against my ground forces sitting at the river juncture. With a noteable exception to the above. Dewayne went and drove in some ground units at Kuala, it did cost him some ships and quite afew aircraft but he pulled it off. Reinforcing this area though, is alot harder, I know I'm doing my part to make sure it is Now on to Eniwetok Island atoll and the battles there. Dewayne decided to reinforce the place and brought in some heavy hitters to make sure it worked. Well I got a surprise when my bombers flew into a wall of fighters (only CAP is allowed at a level one airfield). My continuious bombing raids came to a halt but only after slipping no less then 5 torpedoes into the USS Tennessee. Somehow she managed to stay afloat and he has her docked at the port. Next up he brought in a lot of DDs to stop my bombardment missions from sailing in and smashing the base. One of my CAs took a torpedo but I think I came out ahead on the surface battle. As for his airfield, look at the map and number of fighters he's got here, knocking this thing back down is going to be hard but I've done it before (costing Dewayne over 100 aircraft not so long ago). In the DEI we both pretty much have settled down to solid lines, he still holds the main city on Java with me on the outskirts. We're both moving forces around so there hasn't been much change, though I do NEED it to change soon otherwise I have alot of my ground forces stuck in Java instead of slapping Dewayne around somewhere else. In northern China I am making progress, working at cutting his main force off from supplies and then hammering his other airfields in the area with bombing raids to eat up the last of his supplies. I think it's working because he's moving his units around to block me but that's about to change when my units finish their movement orders. Pagan Island area is well under my control. Damage is up very nicely on the island here and Dewayne has made no move to try to reinforce the Island by sea, mainly relying on PBYs to fly in supply (that's not going to be enough here). And finally the scoreboard for the game up to date. Check out the number of Allied ships sunk
  20. I'll be doing an update here in the next day or two, sorry about the stagnet thread. I just got back into the work groove coming off of vacation (I think I need another one).
  21. Dewayne's air offensive has netted him well over 100 destroyed aircraft, pity that their his own and not mine. Today I lost zero to his like 38. Muhahahahahaha. To be charitable I did destroy the aircraft on the ground and not risk my own pilots. He continues his air raids on the Home Islands but really isn't doing as much damage as he'd want too I'm sure. Sincerely Kelly-san
  22. Well Dewayne isn't killing as many aircraft as he'd like I'm sure. He's now bombing the Home Islands though from both the Kurile Islands and Toyohara airfields. I've been pretty much stalled out in my offenses so far so I gotta go back to the drawing board and figure out a way to make him pay for his early offensives. Sincerely Kelly
  23. I doubt this will happen quite the way they think it will but Dewayne is right, just more fodder for scenario crafters. Might make for a nice change from the usual stuff out there now. Sincerely Kelly
  24. Okay I did forget about the USS Wasp, but apparently my airborne warriors didn't. Today they managed to hole her flight deck and leave her on fire but I lost quite afew planes throughout the day in the war against the Allied aggression. So maybe not delusional as I thought, but not too far off the mark. He's fielding one lousy CV against the Home Islands, brave and yet futile. I managed to sneak in a BB bombardment of Toyohara smashing up quite afew of his heavy bombers there (he moved them in real fast). He's got tons of supplies because the damage is already repaired and my forces haven't even reached home base to resupply and hit them again. It's a race to see who can wear down the other and I have a feeling he's going to win (go figure given his resources). I'm being stripped of the inititive one invasion at a time and I didn't really plan on going on the defense so early. Dewayne's strategy seems to be working well though the losses on his forces is massive considering the number of CVs and BBs I managed to send to the bottom. Also I'm not so sure he's finding many volunteers for his merchant marine with his no need to bother with escorts tactic. Many invasion fleets failed to return home or did limp away all tore up. An interesting war to say the least. Sincerely Kelly-san
  25. Dewayne is delusional but it's understandable. Run across one too many beaches will do that too you. He is however, correct about us both regrouping though my operations in China seem to be gaining some headway finally. Not alot to report other then Dewayne's last operational carrier turned up in the Coral Sea and slaughtered some of my transports on their way home from Port Moresby. This move cost me quite afew aircraft since they decided to attack his CVBG in or near Rabaul and flew into the cloud of Cap Dewayne has over that vicinity. It's not a mistake I will allow to happen again. Sincerely Kelly-san
