  1. Toyohara fell under the weight of quite afew Regmential Combat Teams, though one got the chance to go swimming when their transport got sunk underneath them. Afew more transports also went down and I expect the rest to sucumb in the next day or two (weather is hampering my flights). I hit them with both Betties and Kates plus a afew Vals here and there so most of the damage done was by torpedo. I have afew more surprises in store for Dewayne so things aren't completely grim yet. Though if he can reinforce and resupply Toyohara then I'm in big trouble because he'll be able to pound the Home Islands into dust (the best Allied fighter he has is his heavy bombers). Elsewhere things are doing just fine, Dewayne keeps burning supplies in both Burma (where he's bombing my ground forces and their assault value is RISING ) and in Java where I've got a good net around it so he'll no longer be able to run in supplies. Same at Rabaul. The continued pounding of Pagan and Ent. Island is just that, continued. Sooner or later Dewayne is going to have to bring in supplies or risk running out and then having his forces be subjected to Japanese railroad bridge building campaigns . Enough for now. Sincerely Kelly-san
  2. And I as well, always at your service mate. Sincerely KellyC
  3. I'm producing about 80 Kates a month right now, but most are heading into the pool for a later date (I'll have to restock my CVs with em after this last battle). Building aircraft is easy, the pilots on the otherhand... If I had been smart I'd try to interrupt more convoys flowing around both the IO and Coral Sea area, which would have further increased the loss of enemy shipping due to aerial torpedoes. It is the mainstay of the Japanese power projection. In other news it appears Dewayne's invasion force landed at Toyohara in the middle of major storms preventing my air force from extracting a large penalty for being this close to the Home Islands, once again he sent along no escorts so his invasion force will die right offshore. Suppling this base should prove to be impossible. I don't think my land forces will hold him off for very long, he has 8 units landing so that's just too many men. He won't be able to go anywhere because I do have enough forces to hold him at the next base further north and I plan on nailing Toyohara airfield into the ground once it falls. Have a good one, Sincerely Kelly-san
  4. Okay I spotted Dewayne's incoming invasion fleet, he's not kidding with the gambling part. None of these guys are going home, count on it. And here's an update on the state of Allied CVs: Sunk, sunk, and sunk What a nice way to start off the weekend.... Sincerely Kelly-san Emperor at Large
  5. Hmm, if this is your version of a defense, not sure I'm interested in seeing an 'actual' offense Please stop by the Home Islands for a visit, I've got afew hundred thousand soldiers waiting around for something to do. Might as well be now instead of later. I took my time with this last turn so hopefully I didn't mess up too much. Just have to wait and see. I think we're both getting better at this game (though wish Dewayne was abit slower ). Have a fun one, Sincerely KellyC
  6. As I predicted, the Hornet and Yorktown slip beneath the lovely south Pacific ocean and make their final journey to the seabed. Then Port Moresby surrenders to the mighty Japanese empire. Dewayne should have some Essex class CVs coming online with the names like Saratoga 2 and Enterprise 2 (there's going to be alot of 2s out there ). While the situation isn't great for my own CVs, none haven't gone down yet and it looks like they're not going to. Dewayne's vaunted offensive ability is now seriously curbed for awhile. Plus he needs to get supplies forward to his invasion points and that's going to be alittle more complicated. I hadn't planned on this being the big showdown with the Allies, it works out the same way. The ambush with Dewayne was my own stupid planning (or actually, the lackthereof). I like to pound out the turns and I should be slowing them down and eyeing all my options. Alittle better planning would have resulted in better recon of the area and perhaps spotting the inbound Allied CVBG before it even got close. Live and learn, at least for today. Tomorrow is a different story. Dewayne's aggressive nature (he's an ex-marine but forgive him anyways) makes for an exciting game and one with alot of unexpected results. I've never really seen an Allied counter-offensive this early in the game and my own poor planning skills have added to the entertainment. Hopefully I can go the distance. Sincerely Kelly-san Reporting live from the Emperial palace
  7. Well it wasn't as bloody as I first thought. CV Illustrious now swims with the fishes and I believe the other two Brit CVs might make it back to port. Most likely the Hornet and Yorktown aren't going to. Not a bad trade off, I've once again smashed up the Allied CV fleet so if he wants to make an invasion he'll need to do it within range of his land based aircraft. Have to wait and see how it all plays out in the next few days. My invasion troops knocked down a fort and will probably (hopefully) take Port Moresby in tomorrow's attack. Now his reinforcement convoys for Rabaul must first pass by there and with the range of the Betties I believe he's going to have some problems (at least I sure hope so). Elsewhere the continued pounding of Ent. and Pagan Islands pass day after day. I'm sure the troops morale is plunging with each bombardment and bombing raids. Have a nice day Sincerely Kelly-san
  8. Well Dewayne sent in his remaining aircraft carriers today against my fleet at Port Moresby. Our CVBGs exchanged airstrikes but no ships sank outright from either fleet but we both suffered dearly. I've lost over 160+ planes to Dewayne's 120+ and afew of my flight decks are pretty messed up but it won't stop the invasion. In the next day or two we'll know the final results, it looks like the Yorktown and 2 of the British CVs are done for but as I said above, no one has sank yet. I guess my move to cut off Rabaul hit a raw nerve I'll update as soon as I get more information from the battlefront. In the meantime, have a wonderful day. Sincerely Kelly-san
  9. Okay we're now into the beginning of August and so far it's looking rosey for me. I'm blasting away at Pagan and Ent. Islands, slowly the damage is continuing to climb forcing Dewayne to burn supplies that he's not sending in via ships anymore. He did send some to the Bonin Island garrison but I popped it with betties from Tokyo on it's way home, acouple of the transports went down due to torpedo hits. Oh and I'm currently invading Port Moresby. He's got a whopping two units guarding this bastion of freedom: Plan on investing heavily here and making the moving of supplies to Rabaul awhole lot harder. Not much else to report on this day. Sincerely Kelly-san
  10. The Allies once again sent a resupply run without proper covering forces and once again paid the price. This time I believe the convoy was heading for Rabaul when I ran it down. Here's the combat report for it: No Japanese losses Allied Ships AK Empire Strength, Bomb hits 1, Torpedo hits 4, on fire, heavy damage AP Empress of Asia AP Dardanus, Bomb hits 4, Torpedo hits 6, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Bardolph, Bomb hits 1, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Lakeland, Bomb hits 1, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage AK Katong AK Empire Bell, Bomb hits 1, on fire AK Empire Johnson, Bomb hits 5, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Peregrine, Torpedo hits 1, on fire AK Indora AK Empire Purcell, Bomb hits 1 AK Nora Moller AK Shinkuang, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Pennant, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage AK Jalarajan, Bomb hits 1 AK Empire Pibroch AK Empire Torrent, Bomb hits 3, on fire AK Gandara, Torpedo hits 1, on fire AK Empire Voice, Torpedo hits 4, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Avocet, Bomb hits 2, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Adur, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Webster AK Empire Lionel, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Heywood, Bomb hits 4, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire March, Bomb hits 4, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage AK Sudabar, Torpedo hits 2, on fire AK Empire Cato, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Ranger, Bomb hits 2, on fire, heavy damage AK Empire Southey, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage I believe four of these ships sank outright and the rest are in big trouble. 11. All in due time Dewayne, might as well let you starve some more. It's not like they're going to jump into row boats and head back to Wake Island any time soon. Nor can you pick them up cuz the Navy you got in this area is minus afew too many CVs Sincerely Kelly-san
  12. Well it happened, CV Hiyo goes down following her first real war engagement against an American CV backed up by the British CVs. None of my air strikes got thru Dewayne's defenses. Ah well, can't make an omlet without breaking afew eggs and what's good having carriers if you don't use em while you can. Not too far into the distant future these things will be competely useless against the American TF wall of flak. Other operations continue including the pounding of Pagan and Ent Islands. I probably can take these back anytime I want now. I haven't seen any real attempts to resupply either bastion. I'll let them wither for awhile longer before scooping up the remains and sending them off to build railroad bridges in SE Asia Sincerely Kelly-san
  13. You're welcome Tony. Bad news day all around, I got Midway'ed in a bad way. Thankfully I only lost my mini-CVs plus the Hiyo (most likely sink in the next day or so). I'll let Dewayne post up the details on the battle since it's his moment of glory
  14. Finally the last little bit of my update, sorry about the pics but I thought you folks might like to see the war up close and personal Here's the score board with some uhmmm exceptions: The situation isn't dismal but it's not rosey either. Right now I'm working hard to stabilize the situation and have several operations underway to ensure that I do just that while continuing to bloody the Allied noses until they finally surrender or at least sue for peace (wishful thinking with someone like Dewayne but hey, never hurts to try.). Sincerely Kelly-san Emperor at large
  15. Now onto China which in reality was a dead end for the Japanese has turned into something else entirely for both sides. Dewayne has managed to lay seige to Canton and continue that seige from the beginning of the war to the present day along with several other major attacks. Here's one of them: Too much supply on both sides results in offensives in China that didn't happen in real life and shouldn't happen in the game but that's the way it goes. No matter, I have him contained here as well. The Kurile Islands are another matter but I'm letting him fly around in the soup up there (bad weather doesn't help the crew's morale whatsoever) for the time being, I'm sure his operational losses will only add to my victory points. I've got more then enough air power should he try a run on the Home Islands and if he gets too froggy, well I've got an ace or two up my sleeve if need-be. Here's the cost to Dewayne in trying to stop the Japanese advance early on in ships: As you can see that's not a pretty sight to behold (well it is for me!)
  16. Now onto the Burma region: Dewayne has brought all his available aircraft up front to help stop the Japanese cold and then drive them back, well he might have accomplished the first part, not so sure about the second one. He does however, have two massive stack of units at Moulmein and Rangoon which represent most if not all the ground units available to him in this region. He must have stripped India to the bone to get this done making his rear areas weak and ripe for invasion.
  17. Setting aside all the banter, Dewayne has done a very impressive job of slowing down the mighty Japanese advance on every front except the South Pacific. It has been very bloody and expensive in terms of ships and men. He's also gone on the offensive in the Central Pacific. Here's some pics of his great advance: Followed by a naval bombardment And the end results: As long as I can keep up the pressure here I then I have him contained and the Island is nothing more then a POW camp for his men and material. Now for the next lovely little island hotspot, Pagan Island: As you can see above I also have Pagan Island contained as well, another POW camp in the sunny Pacific. Bonin Island is another matter because Iwo Jima wasn't built up enough prior to Dewayne's arrival so I wasn't able to establish air superority right away. Dewayne suffered though, he suffered big time for his invasion. At one point when his second invasion went in and got hammered by the coastal guns he sent a reply calling it the Island that wouldn't fall. I hammered the first invasion with the Mobile Strike Group and I think his supplies hadn't offloaded when I did the sail-by which resulted in his not being able to overcome the little garrision with 3 divisions (including a USMC div!). I was out of position to maul the second invasion other then a tiny Destroyer squadron coming by and netting 4 merchant ships (Dewayne still believes in letting his invasion forces drive around without escorts.). The base fell the other day and now Dewayne works on reducing the remaining Japanese in the jungle: Here's his 'massive airpower' he posted about above in a raid against Iwo Jima: Pffft! The area around Rabaul has cooled off, Dewayne is still bombing the local Japanese garrisions at Konveig (sp?) and Gasmata but beyond that we've both decided the area wasn't worth all the expense paid in blood, men, and ships. Moving to the DEI area now: As you can see the seige of Soerabaja isn't going to be a tiny little affair. It's a bloodbath but I think I've got the upper hand here now even though Dewayne has invested a massive amount of airpower available to him in the DEI. Here's another pic of me clearing the skies above Northern Sumtra: Not much else to report here.
  18. I see Dewayne has turned up his massive propaganda industry to the full setting while I was busy laying my plans. No worries, the Empire is strong even with the loss of the Bonin Island Group (though not exactly lost, I lost the base, my forces are still there, dying heroicly for the empire). Dewayne has lost control of the air and sea around his two other conquests (Pagan and Ent. Islands). I'm pounding both daily by air and sea. Dewayne also doesn't control the sea around the Bonin Islands as he found out last turn when a group of Destroyers arrived and shot up his transports (causing another 5K worth of troop disablements or killed, not sure which). He's lost about 6-8 ships there in the second invasion. Having all that material on an island close to your enemy might be great, but only if you can reinforce it and I plan on making sure that doesn't happen because I'm still the king of the Pacific with my Mobile Striking Force (6 CVs) and my island blasting Battleships. Most of Dewayne's BBs are resting on the bottom of the sea . I'll post up a update with pics and my thoughts on the war to date later tonight or tomorrow depending how ugly work is tonight. Holy cow=Holy hambugers=yummy! Got kectup? Sincerely Kelly-san Emperor of the Pacific
  19. The game is currently in the middle of July. I've managed to smash up both Pagan Isle and Ent. At Bonin (Dewayne has 3 divisions here and STILL hasn't taken it over yet) I'm just buying some time. I think Dewayne's invasion forces got too disrupted for him to finish what he started. Probably waiting for naval reinforcements before he brings in more supplies and what not. Lately we're just positioning our pieces upon the board waiting to see what happens next. Sincerely Kelly-san
  20. Well the CVE is truly on the bottom of the ocean. Sadly I must report that the BB Hiei was lost in an attempted bombardment of Java due to Allied air attacks, such is life. This is a sad way for the mighty empire to lose it's ships but alas that's how this is going to go in the end. Anyways I'm continuing with operations and looking for more targets to send to the bottom of the ocean but there doesn't seem to be any around at the moment. Kelly-san
  21. Like Fox news my opponent is ignoring a rather important news segment here. While yes in fact I did suffer at the hands of his LBA (Land Based Air) I didn't lose any flight decks. Dewayne on the other hand, managed to once again drive a CV 'up the middle' in the Pagan Island area and into my Mobile Strike Force. Like the last time he suffered for his intrusion upon sacred waters. The Carrier battle I told you about follows: CVE Long Island is now resting comfortably upon the ocean floor along with most of her escorts including the following ships: BB Idaho, CA Northampton, CA Portland, CA Vincennes, CLAA Atlanta, CL Phoenix, CL Honolulu, , CL St. Louis, DD Mugford and probably afew more DDs. In return I lost....uhmm JACK! So far in this war Dewayne has lost 305 ships to my 107 ships. Not a bad trade off at all
  22. Worse still is I forgot to stand down those fighters and bombers so they tried another run at Rabaul though this time it wasn't as bad as the first trip. Live and learn. There seems to been a CV battle but it's too early to tell what the extent of the damage other then Dewayne's SBDs flew into a wall of Zeros (afew new aces for me as well). As far as ships sunk and the end result I don't want to say yet because this battle just may be getting under way instead of being over. Hopefully I can post up the results in the next day or two and you can witness the true power of the dark side....or not. Sincerely Kelly-san Ruler of the virtural Japanese Empire...
  23. Quick update. Dewayne staged quite afew fighters into Pagan Ils (over 100) and then I drove the BB Yamato and several others for a little party. The bombardment smashed up his air units and he withdrew them the next day. Yamato and company has paid a second visit driving up the damage on the airfield to 70%. Ent. Island continues to get hammered though the damage % is almost gone. I've had to rest my bomber crews so I'm not hitting it as often as I need too. No worries, it's a level 1 af so all it can do is fly CAP though he has no aircraft there whatsoever. Moving stuff around here and there, nothing major to report from other areas at the moment. Sincerely Kelly-san
  24. Okay a few hours later now.... Here's a pic of the Central Pacific, notice the shipping around the Bonin Islands... And then here's the results from the big stick's visit to the area.... Muhahahahahahaha Any questions on Marines and their effectiveness can be found at the following link.. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=e2d_1182766592 Have a nice day... Sincerely Kelly-san PS-- I know I know. I'm going to hell for that one.
  25. Don't believe a word of what the former Marine tells you. The Empire is strong and as Dewayne just found out, carrying a big stick. Dewayne did attack and secure Pagan but it cost him the entire invasion fleet. (Dewayne doesn't believe in covering his amphibious shipping with proper escorts.) He also invaded the Bonin Island due north of Pagan (next to Iwo Jima) but hasn't been able to secure it yet. His amphibious shipping and troops ran into alot of firepower on the beaches. It looks like he didn't cover this invasion fleet as well and will shortly watch it slip beneath the waters. In Burma I drove off his counter-counter offense and now I think we're both stalled for the moment. In the pic for this region the squared area out to sea (Allied TF is the Hornet along with some British CVs). The seige of Java is ongoing as well...nothing to update at the moment. Sorry about the delays in updates but work has increased massively and I'm working 6 day weeks right now. I'll keep trying to update every few days errr mornings (it's after 3am now). Long live the Empire! Kelly-san
