  1. You have an ESM detection. I goofed a little bit in that the P-3 departed Bandar Bushehr instead of Shiraz. There is actually an airbase at Bushehr, so all is well! turn_1100_red.txt turn_1100_red_intl.txt
  2. You have an ESM detection. turn_1100_blue.txt turn_1100_blue_intl.txt
  3. Here we go! I set the initial ship speed at 15 knots. Let me know what speed you would like. Also, if you have ship names you would like to use, I will change them. turn_1030_red.txt turn_1030_red_intl.txt
  4. Here we go! I need your EMCON status. The current heading takes you directly to Kuwait, so please let me know if that is what you guys want. turn_1030_blue.txt turn_1030_blue_intl.txt
  5. You can zoom with the + and - keys. You can also scroll with mouse right click (centers the map at the click point) or you can use the arrow keys. The C key will re-center the map at the original position. I must apologize because I did not yet create a readme for Viewer. The keyboard commands are the same as SimPlot.
  6. Here is your initial ship formation. Let me know if this is acceptable. The formation is on a course of 308 deg towards Kuwait. turn_1030_blue.txt turn_1030_blue_intl.txt
  7. Ok. What formation would you like for the ships? They will start just south of Bandar Bushehr. All aircraft will start at Shiraz Airbase on Alert+15. turn_1030_red.txt turn_1030_red_intl.txt
  8. Eric had to drop out. SHUK is willing to play all ships with dylan as air commander. I will set up the map this weekend.
  9. We have an opening for a Red ship player for anyone that is interested.
  10. SHUK, do you know anyone that would be interested in playing Red side? Or, will you be able to handle all three ships?
  11. Are you guys settled on a Sumner and two Combattantes?
  12. I didn't see your link about the Sumners earlier. I just sent it to Larry to see what he thinks. I think we should consider the Sumner and Battle classes to have one manual reload for each box launcher.
  13. I sent another email to Larry, but I suspect the same holds true for the Ex-UK Battle class.
  14. I received a clarification about the FRAM II from Larry Bond. It was listed as 4 box launchers for the SM1MR, but had 2 missiles each. Larry says that is a typo, so there is only 1 missile for each box with no at-sea reloads.
  15. Will your formation look something like this? Merch - O O - Sov Merch - O Merch - O O - Kriv
  16. You guys have made an excellent point about the Sov. The objective of this scenario is to have fun. So, if you feel outgunned, then I will let you have 3 ships.
  17. I was planning on giving you only two warships total. Can you guys make an effective attack with two ships and 4 fighters?

  19. I will post them from Sitrep #48.
  20. Ok. I added Mavericks because they are a precision weapon, so they can target things like weapon mounts or sensors.
  21. Dylan, let me double check if Iran has Snake-Eye bombs. I think so, but I am going by a Data Annex that is in Sitrep #48, and I believe it to be accurate. Also, please be aware that each aircraft can only control one maverick at a time.
  22. Red players can discuss which two Iranian warships you would like for this scenario. Ex-US Allen M. Sumner FRAM II (up to 2) Ex-UK Battle (1) Saam Vosper Mk5 (up to 2) Combattante IIB (up to 2) The ships will start south of Bandar Bushehr. The aircraft available will be 1x P-3 Orion and 4x F-4E. You will have a limited supply of airborne smart weapons. For now lets say 4x AGM-65A Maverick missiles. You can use as many dumb bombs (Mk82 or Mk84) as the aircraft can carry. Also, they can be equipped with an ECM pod, TISEO, and air-to-air missiles. The P-3 will not be armed. Due to the fluctuating demands of the Iran-Iraq War, it's possible that another 4x F-4D may become available. The aircraft will be based at the Shiraz Airbase.
  23. Blue players can discuss your initial formation, intentions, and tactics here. Please keep in mind your primary objective is the safe arrival of the merchants at Kuwait. They are loaded with war material for our Iraqi allies.
  24. Scenario: Divide and Conquer Introduction: On April 7, 1988, USS Samuel B. Roberts and USS John A. Moore found themselves in this situation when escorting tankers in Earnest Will convoy EW-88023. This scenario will pit two Soviet warships against two aggressive Iranian warships. Location: Persian Gulf, 100 nm east of Manama, Bahrain, May 29, 1987, 1030 Local time. Environment: Sea State 2, wind 12 knots from 315°. Visibility 80%. Tactical Situation: Because of an escalation in Iranian aggressive behavior, a destroyer and a frigate have been tasked to escort the merchant vessels all the way to Kuwait. Soviet Forces: Sovremenny class DDG Krivak I class FF Nicolai Zhukov class merchant Dnepr class merchant Maykop class merchant Soviet Orders: Iranian warships have made increasingly more threatening movements toward our merchant vessels. Respond resolutely to any hostile actions. Soviet Victory Conditions: Decisive Victory: Less than 25% damage to merchant vessels, no damage to warship. Tactical Victory: Less then 25% damage to merchant vessels, less then 25% damage to either warship. Soviet Setup: The convoy’s formation, speed, and course are at the Soviet player’s discretion. Iranian Forces: To be determined by the Iranian players. Iranian Orders: Stop the merchant vessels from reaching port in Kuwait. Iranian Victory Conditions: Decisive Victory: Cripple (50% or more damage) the merchant vessels, and do 25% or more damage to either warship. Tactical Victory: Inflict 25% damage or more to the merchants. Iranian Setup: To be determined by the Iranian players. Players will need a copy of SimPlot Viewer and the Persian Gulf map. Both are available in the HarpGamer Downloads section. Create a scenario folder for the map, and place all downloaded turn files there, as well.
  25. Thanks, Eric. That means we have everyone. I will post the scenario details later today.
