  2. Consider it done. My info says IOC 1996, but in any event, if you can go through and suggest Loadouts that would be better served by the Magic 2 Mk 2, then that would be much appreciated and I can add it. Happened to be already in the works. All great suggestions.
  3. Holding off on Barak 8 until details firm up.
  4. The DF-21A is a land attack version. The DF-21D is the ship attack version. If the DF-21D is showing as 'land' attack in the SE, then it must be a quirk in the SE. Report it using the Issue Tracker but I expect it will be a low priority issue.
  5. Issue Tracker is always the way to go. Its possible that there is a 'triggering' problem with the IR and Low Light Level flags too, but in the interim ... IR gives bearing, type, size and is not influenced by weather; it cannot see submarine wakes. Low Light Level basically is enhanced visual, basically making it always daytime for visual spotting purposes. Still affected by weather, as with visual.
  6. Thanks, Enrique, for picking up on this. Turns out it was a relatively recent issue. I knew that it had worked at one time or another. And as usual, Tony is the life saver.

  8. A couple of related reports out of Information Dissemination: Insurance company funded private navy preparing for pirate wars and, as if on cue ... EU strikes Somali pirate depot
  9. Forgot the Issue Tracker? [i don't know if we busted something in a beta recently, but these functions did work at one time or another.]
  10. Or, rather, have more merchants arm themselves, as some have certainly done so. Overall, the fight needs to be taken ashore. Not necessarily with boots on the ground, but with at least eyes and talons overhead.
  11. Yeah, thanks. I'm aware that this, among several other changes, are necessary when I revamp the JSF entries.
  12. From DefenseNews Heh, no doubt, since they tried to emphasize the benefits of the C over the B back when they made the first switch. Repeating the weaknesses of the Super Hornet.
  13. I think that's a good idea, but can we swing it with existing loadouts? Or with minimal new ones? I need to revamp the JSF entries as a whole, so this might be doable.
  14. Generally speaking, I'm going to pass on most everything that falls into both the categories of 'hypothetical' and 'needs a new loadout'. I'm already consolidating some Ferry loadouts to try and squeeze more life out of the Loadouts annex.
  15. Sizeable report over at Aviation Week. And this, on the eve of a 10 month deployment to Singapore, huh.
  16. See for example Swedish submarine incidents (Wiki) I think there is very little that would have "automatically" turned into a major war. Lots of scenario ideas to be drawn from actual Cold War history, including defections, covert reconnaissance, and low level operations or conflict in 'backwater' areas or 'client states'. Btw, did you intend duplicate threads in the HCE and ANW sub forums?
  17. Nah, you're right, Tony. We should be using smaller images. Mea culpa.
  18. Thanks, Craig. Your input around here was missed.

Its a complex question, with lots of intricacies, and not all of the real world conditions come into play in the computer code, but the short answer is "Yes". Raw hit probability (pH) of the missile, the defensive ATA (DATA) rating of the target aircraft, the effects of any defensive ECM (DECM), etc, are all factors. Range doesn't have an effect on pH in the sense that the value degrades with range, but of course, shooting at a target already at maximum range won't do much for your pH if the target turns and runs away.
