Medvedev Replaces Russian Navy Commander

MOSCOW, May 6 (RIA Novosti)

 

Outgoing President Dmitry Medvedev has dismissed Russian Navy Commander, Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky, and appointed Vice-Admiral Viktor Chirkov for the position, the Kremlin press office reported on Sunday, without explaining the reasons for the dismissal.

As I mentioned in the NNSotD, ya gott love Russian politics. Hey, at least they aren't bound for Siberia, right. The think theis a Czar Vlad's attempt to shore up his base among the military leadership. Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky is ethbically Ukrainian and not a Russian he could also be considered deadwood (headed for retirement anyway).
