This is sort of scenario design question, sort of Battleset design question, but as there is no Battleset sub forum I'll bung it here. What do people think of the concept of having the names of major islands, island groups and seas included on HC texture map for a battleset . Here is a sample of the sort of thing I'm thinking of: This is something I did while playing with the HC map to include more of the islands of the south west pacific for my pacific islands battleset. Warning...some spoilers.... I tried this out a few times and have failed every time. Usually not utter and embarrassing failure, but failure nonetheless. I have figured out one way to kill the ammo depot. I launch my F-4s at once, fly them in Very Low and can usually blast the depot and get the hell out of dodge before the SAMs kill me. Around this time, I've started to shuttle a fair number of aircraft to Naha. And, around this time, a large number of Red aircraft are on their way to Japan, mostly trying to kill one of my SAGs. Has anyone ever created a scenario based upon or replicating Operation Pedestal? I ask because I've just read Max Hastings latest work regarding the battle and it struck me that the story would make an excellent subject for Harpoon - lots of potential 'what ifs' available on both sides. I've had a quick look through the User Scenario database but didn't spot anything but if anyone knows better - and I'm sure someone does - I'd be grateful to be pointed in the right direction.
