After Action Report "Punch Through" A Harpoon Classic scenario for the original NACV Battleset "Punch Through" was one of my favourites in the old times. It always gave me close and hard fought out battles. To be honest, I usually lost. In this scenario the red aircraft are rather well coordinated and heavily press the Nato defenders of Stornoway and Kevlavik. And so things getting started many years after the last scenario run. I start with setting up my GIUK CAP and an Iceland based Sentry. Soon after that one wave after the other attacks. SU-24 Fencers, Badgers, Backfires. The typical Soviet Cold War inventory. Nasty surprises include…

Has anyone ever created a scenario based upon or replicating Operation Pedestal? I ask because I've just read Max Hastings latest work regarding the battle and it struck me that the story would make an excellent subject for Harpoon - lots of potential 'what ifs' available on both sides. I've had a quick look through the User Scenario database but didn't spot anything but if anyone knows better - and I'm sure someone does - I'd be grateful to be pointed in the right direction. Many thanks.

The top post in this thread will consist of lists of vlow capable planes for each of the early (pre EC2003) battlesets which have their own built in database. The information has been gathered by trial and error, it may be incorrect. Please contribute (additions or corrections) by adding a post, someone will put the information into this top post. Note1: When testing plane units appear to need at least two aircraft, all single plane units appear to be vlow capable. Note2: Vlow capability doesn't seem to necessarily follow on to later battlesets. the list currently shows those planes found to be vlow capable. Mostly attack and fighter planes tested at the moment. …

After Action Report: French Ivory A scenario by Mark Gellis 'French Ivory' is a new HCE scenario for the 'South Africa' Battleset. I played the scenario using beta 2008.042. The Marine Nationale (French Navy) task force AAS deployed to West Africa consisted of the Mistral class amphibious assault ship Mistral (L9013), the Forbin (Horizon) class anti-air warfare frigate Chevalier Paul (D621), and the modernized La Fayette class frigate Courbet (F712). Deployed aboard Mistral were sixteen brand new helicopters, including ten NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (for the Commandos de Marine, or naval commandos also deployed aboard) and six Tiger HAP combat helic…

New scenario: Thunder Dragon Meets the Gold Eagle - Westpac One of the most significant obstacles to a forced reunification between the PRC and the Republic of China (ROC, commonly referred to as Taiwan) is the US Navy. The presence of a US Navy carrier strike group in the vicinity would pose a very serious danger to PRC military action. Does the PRC possess the capability to neutralize the threat ? Try it and see for yourself. Get it at HarpGamer via the HC Scen button.

Friends, A quick question... Do you know where I can find out... What countries are building (or are likely to be building) ships or planes for other countries (and who their customers are or are likely to be)? And... What countries are selling (or likely to be selling) older vessels and aircraft to other countries (and, again, who their customers are likely to be)? Thanks. Mark

I fear that we may have some very interesting times ahead. Mark

HDS1 4.0 Sichelshnih, turned out for me the best scenario for a long time, it really surprised me, I started to feel like doing an AAR half way through it, thus I have no notes for the first part but I have some save games to work from. I'm playing blue side. Scenario background is the US 2nd armored division being surrounded in Germany, at Willhelmshaven, need to be evacuated in 3 days, shipped to the UK via sealift. Victory conditions look interesting, game time limit is 3 days AND at least 12 transport ships (MRCH) must embark at W.haven (be on station for 1 hour) AND at least 10 MRCH need to reach the UK coasts (onsta 1 hour) AND W.haven port has to be protected for …

File Name: Operation Praying Mantis 1988, Historical Scenario File Submitter: broncepulido File Submitted: 07 Jan 2012 File Category: Middle East Operation Praying Mantis 1988, historical engagement. Note: This scenario is designed mostly to be played from the US/Blue and it's better to play that side in first place, and to play it later from the Iranian/Red side because it can be a little frustrating and boring, but the victory is also possible. Operation Praying Mantis was the Reagan administration answer to the Irani attacks on neutral tanker shipping and inmediate consequence of the mining deployed from the LST Iran Arj against the USS Samuel B. …

With the current Russia Ukraine war I decided to step back in Harpoon time to 10 Sep 2014 and take on the CV32 scenario "Eastern Questions" The scenario description: The cease fire has been broken by the hostile actions of the pro Russian separatist rebels in the southeastern parts of Ukraine. Fighting erupted again in the last several hours. The rebels are refusing to abandon their weapons and are laying claim to the self-proclaimed regions of Luhansk Peoples Republic and Donetsk Peoples Republic for themselves. The Russians have meanwhile strongly protested the assertion that they caused the airliner shootdown, describing it as a subversive and disgusting NATO…
