December 26, 200817 yr I tried not to post, I really did but now it is too late! My sister and her husband got me the Naval Institute Combat Fleets 15th Edition tome and it is truly a work of art. The best present was certainly spending time with family (and extra time with my 93 year old grandfather). But for pure shock and awe it was the book. It sat on my lap wrapped for at least a half an hour while the nephews and grandpa tore through presents before it dawned on me. I think my sister caught the look on my face as I finally put 2 and 2 together (very heavy present, solid, yet not a box, oh my gosh, it can't be!). It was a very naval Christmas for me, Combat Fleets, Red Storm Rising in paperback, and a combo book with DVD about US carrier aviation. If you don't hear from me for a few weeks it probably signals an overload of ship statistics. http://www.usni.org/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=1339 Cya this weekend when I WON'T be working for once
December 27, 200817 yr When I see the kind of Christmas presents you are getting, I know that HCE is in good hands! All the best for 2009.
December 27, 200817 yr Tony, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying things so much. I guess this proves the old adage that "The difference between men and boys is the type of toys they play with". I always preferred toys to practical items like clothes for Christmas. Merry Christmas, Buddha
