November 16, 200817 yr A useful tool for all of you current and prospective scenario writers ... "This report is Flight International’s annual compilation of the aircraft inventories of the world’s air forces (and other military services). Presented in the form of tables, the report provides for each country a list of military aircraft types in service, broken down by the number of active, stored and on-order aircraft. Some country entries are illustrated by photographs. While very handy as a quick-reference guide, the report provides little information other than aircraft numbers, and so must be used in conjunction with other sources to provide a comprehensive overview." World air forces 2008 (a PDF document) VERY VERY useful tool that normally you would have to get from a book like Janes, and then not until the info was out of date. This document now resides on my HD, ready for use in any upcoming scenarios.
November 17, 200817 yr I agree. Reading the number of Flankers and Fulcrums in service with Russia surprised me. Though I know total fighter force for Russia used to be huge compared to the present, the still flying number is much larger than I expected.
