While looking at another issue it has become apparent that in a situation where a group has more than one unit that is capable of catering for aircraft, aircraft units launching from the group might have their home base changed for no apparent benefit during group split and join operations resulting in the unit RTB to a different base unit from where it tool off.

Is this good/bad indifferent?

apparently I'm not allowed to vote :(

I think if it joins a group that is destined to land at a different group or base then it's reasonable to change the units home base to that of the lead unit, but maybe not in other situations?

Never automatically for me, only at the player discretion (many times compulsory by the scenario text/rules), just as now (too complicated to change bases in a short scenario by maintenance, weapons and fuel issues).

For the IA only when the base/ship has been destroyed, the aircraft/helicopter should land in the nearest base/ship.

for the IA its possible to program a base change at a determinated time, as example take-off the bombers from base A to base B after some hours (10 hours of the scenario start, as example) of timeplay, and later the IA conducts attacks from that base B because previously in the scenario building some attack missions have been programmed (as example at 20 hours of scenario start) with bombers present in the base in the scenario building, and later DELETED (in this example, the bombers come from base A to base B at 10+ hours, and later start its strikes at 20+ hours).

About the vote:

I did vote "never" with the detailed explanation in the previous post.

But click "never", I didn't see any change in the pool, I'm questioned something as "If you see the results, you can't vote", but I voted previously: outcome, I open the pool, none vote is casted, even my "never" vote, and obviously the system says me "you can't vote because you watched the result"!!!

There does seem to be a bug in the voting system, I think its been devised by some government, we can only vote they way they want?

We can browse peoples comments for an idea of what people think I guess.

Oh YES I'd completely overlooked that one. Very true.

I voted for some other situation.  If the home base from which I took off is damaged to an extent then plane can't land, I'm good with the logic auto-choosing another one in the same group.  However, there is no suitable home plate in the group, then I'd like to be prompted to select a new one (with an indication of whether I have enough fuel to get there or not).
