Long Description: After installing new HCE the SE 026 and previouse versions work fine. One day later the SE does provide the error message below by starting up and finally exit.

and do you still have a harpoon8.dll file in your game directory? If you don't, reinstall, then see if your virus scanner thinks it is a virus or something, Herman had his disappear but these files just don't disappear without reason...

Sounds like McAfee could be the culprit. My new system came loaded with McAfee, and after reinstalling alot of my old software, it ran a scan that night and wiped out numerous files it apparently didn't like for one reason or another. I got rid of McAfee, repleced it with AVG which I've always used (not to mention it's free), and haven't had that problem since. That would also explain why his SE ran OK, but files were missing the next day.
