November 2, 201312 yr This is kind of a dumb question but I'm gonna go with it... How do I get new scenarios and battlesets? I am pretty sure I have Harpoon Ultimate Commander's Edition (from Matrix games). I saw that there are different databases and that you can install different scenarios and battlesets. I also saw that there were download links on these forums. I'm just not sure how I go about doing that. Do the new Battlesets require a new database? I was interested especially in the new battlesets (USNI, Carribean, South Atlantic, etc.)
November 2, 201312 yr David, You can download utilities, scenarios, databases and battle sets at the link below: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/files/category/1-harpoon-classichchcehuce/ Please make sure that your HUCE has the latest update since the 2009.097 release on the Matrix web site. The latest updates can be found at: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/topic/2049-current-files/ Download both files and unzip them into your HUCE directory. Have a great day, Eric
November 3, 201312 yr Do the new Battlesets require a new database? I was interested especially in the new battlesets (USNI, Carribean, South Atlantic, etc.) Hi David, It is normally a scenario that dictates which database is needed. In the case of USNI, the database is built into the battleset so you don't have to worry about the database in the USNI battlesets. A somewhat complicated example would be... Scenario: Battle of Baltim - http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/files/file/777-battle-of-baltim-9-october-1973-hypotetical-scenario/ Note that scenario listing tells you what database is needed - HCCW-120614 (or newer). So download the scenario zip file and unzip into your HUCE directory. Next grab the database: HCCW - http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?/files/file/576-hccw-130923-1950-75-era/ Download that zip file and unzip into your HUCE directory. Note that stock EC2003, Westpac, and a few other scenarios will no longer work until you put the HCDB database back in place. At this point you can fire up the Middle East BattleSet and play the Battle of Baltim user scenario. Continue on with questions if you are still having difficulties.
November 8, 201312 yr And for when you really get into it, TonyE (modest fellow that he is) forgot to mention his tool: HCLauncher found in the downloads. It removes the need to chop and change the databasefile in the main folder, as well as much more
May 17, 201411 yr where in the directory do they go a lot of files in there The database download must be unzipped to your main HUCE directory. The scenario download(s) can also be unzipped there, or to a separate folder within HUCE if you choose to create one (e.g. called 'Scenarios'). Also, from the FAQ: User scenarios and custom databases Battlesets
