HCE - 2011.011 - 2011/09/09

===========================

- Chg:0000 GE Added -S command line option that will save the game every game

second in a ITER_SAVE_GAMETIME subdirectory of your game

directory. It does 4096 saves then starts again at one (rolls).

- Chg:0000 GE Debugging aid just for Enrique tells him which save to send in

for analysis on the submarines stopping issue.

Enrique (and maybe Don?), this one is for you to help track down the submarines stopping without authorization problem.

You have to turn on the new iterative saving on the command line so instead of running

winharp32sides.exe

you need to run

winharp32sides.exe -S

the -S must be a capital S

Play the test scenario in the issue report (not the saves, the scenario from the start). Send me the saved game if prompted (it will tell you which save file to zip up and send to me). Thanks!

Any idea if we can just let the game keep going or do we need to start a new game if teh red subs haven't stalled after sy 25 game minutes?

I assume from how you set it up that we can just let it run.

It seems to be working, certainly saving every second, but so far no stalled subs.

I get the feeling it may happen at any time during the scenario so letting it run seems appropriate. Then again Enrique seems to be the only one who can reliably repeat the source condition that leads to the stopping so it is probably one that will have to await his return from vacation. Thank you for trying though! I'll eventually expand upon the -S saving with options (intervals other than every game second and allowing a total # of saves other than 4096).

Yep, I've given up after seeing the end of the scenario about 5 times. I await the return of Enrique who I note appears to be having a holiday, and I thought he said he never rested from work :D

I think the adjustable -S flag will be quite helpful.
