I don't think it's mentioned often enough just what a great bunch of members we have in this group.

A week or so ago, I upgraded to the Ultimate Edition, and completely lost the SE. Within a day, Tony had me back up and running again.

This morning, I was attempting to do DB update in ANW, and bolluxed things up to the point I couldn't load a scenario. This time it Was Ralf who saved me from what I thought would be a complete reinstall. I heard back from him with a solution in less than 2 hours.

Try getting action like that, (gratis no less), from Microsoft sometime.

Thanx to all,

Buddha

The owners of this wonderful Harpoon site are doing a marvelous job. While this site has always been the most important website for anything related to Harpoon Classic, it is now rapidly evolving into the most important site for all versions of Harpoon.

Many of the mainly H2/H3/H3 ANW/HUE focused pooners of the old guard - like Dale, Darren and myself - found a nice place to work and discuss here. Several guys are interested into H3 and we will give them any support we can.

Thank you, HarpGamer crew!

Thanks for the votes of confidence, guys.

When this place was launched a little over six years ago, the objective was to provide a place where folks could discuss and share Harpoon, things related to it and the like.

There would be room for healthy, respectful debate but no room for grandstanding or displays of ostentatious or partisan 'politicking' for one version of the game over another.

Nor is there room for any pretense of claiming to be the "one and only" place for Harpoon.

We'll continue to try and meet the needs of those who play and enjoy the Harpoon series - and wargames in general! - for as long as we're able. :)

Well spoken, Brad. +1 in all aspects. :)

I like your memory, mine says it took 3-4 days! Anyway, I agree that there are a lot of good people here and hope that we can continue to raise more contributors. Our games, forums, and world are far from perfect. April and May 2011 have seen harsh action taken on the forum and also the glint of future possibility with Harpoon.

I'm really liking the recent H3/ANW activity here and while I wish I had more time to spend in that arena it is great to see Ralf, Dale, and Darren educating long-time HC players in the art of H3.

Don't forget Fred Galano either, he's one of the four founders of HG and while he cannot add his knowledge and experience to the forums these days, he ponies up each year to pay his share of the HG monetary costs. Can you believe I'm the silent partner (sorry, I can't get enough mileage out of that!)?

Maybe I'm just so used to dealing with Microsoft and their ilk that 3-4 days seemed like only one.

H3/ANW has just enough similarity to HC to allow old Classic players like me to get into trouble, as evidenced by by DB updating disaster. I get the impression I'll be calling on those guys more than once as I learn the games inner workings. I'm also finding out why some guys are so passionate in their advocacy of one form or the other. The Mission Editor, for one thing, is an absolute godsend at times.

Thank you all for keeping this old game not only alive, but growing and moving forward. I have noticed some newer folks on this site and wonder if the second generation is on its way!
