Bogdan said the program also had work to do on the F-35C-model being developed for use on board Navy aircraft carriers. He said a reworked tailhook system succeeded only five of eight times during flight tests earlier this year, but said he was confident that the issue would be fixed.

F-35 Bay Presents Challenges To Weapons

By Amy Butler

September 17, 2012

Developers of the multinational F-35 are finally embarking on a multi-year campaign to demonstrate the single-engine stealthy fighter's ability to dispatch weapons. But uncertainties loom about the impact of internal-carriage requirements on those weapons' effectiveness.

Interactive planned weapons chart for the F-35 here:

The chart freezes on my new computer screen, I'm thinking it can be to the F-35 level technology

I think the chart is dated anyway ... it refers to both the UK PGB and SDB Phase I as being under development, and also references the 426 USG fuel tank, which I understood had been dropped.

Pentagon Should Investigate Fighter Options Beyond The F-35

Source: Aviation Week & Space Technology

October 01, 2012

In October 2001, when the U.S. Defense Department awarded Lockheed Martin the contract to develop the Joint Strike Fighter, it looked like the deal of the century for the company and its customer.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon on Friday moved toward bringing in other companies to operate and maintain its most expensive weapons program, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, a step that could reduce revenues for the current prime contractor, Lockheed Martin Corp.

Lockheed's Dubious Claim: Stealth Fighter Will Get Stealthier With Age

By David Axe

November 6, 2012

There have been a lot of sketchy claims made about the long-delayed, over-budget F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, history's most expensive weapon program. But this one takes the cake. According to Stephen O'Bryan, a vice president at F-35-maker Lockheed Martin, the radar-evading jet fighter will actually get stealthier over time - without any upgrades.

I'm not sure if this is a propaganda payed blog or not, but can be another counter-reference:

http://whythef35.blogspot.com.es/2012/11/usaf-pilots-and-maintainers-give-f-35.html

And apparently, the F-35 is like any other computer ruled device:

"The system right now is behaving as advertised, [although] occasionally, we will have some issues with it on the ground," he says. However, this is usually easily fixed by shutting the aircraft down and then restarting it.
"The system right now is behaving as advertised, [although] occasionally, we will have some issues with it on the ground," he says. However, this is usually easily fixed by shutting the aircraft down and then restarting it.

That doesn't sound like a very convienient solution and I'm thinking that pilots who are trusting their lives to this multi-million dollar machine are not going to want to shut the A/C down to clear a problem and then restart it as their adversary is releasing their payloads.
