  19. Here is a request/question... Most of the aircraft that can deliver troops don't actually have any troops on them. When I look at things like the UH-60 Blackhawk, the TRP loadouts only show the ready time, not any "weapons." The one exception is that a few of the French helicopters do have a French infantry unit as a "weapon." I haven't tried them out yet but I assume they just function something like a bomb. If you hit your target with the troops, it takes damage. HCE does this. When will the troops be added as actual "weapons" for aircraft? (Or am I just missing how to use them that way somehow?) I'm looking forward to putting together some scenarios with helicopter-borne troops, paratroopers, etc. Mark
  20. Just a thought... In any scenario, you could divide a particular nation into more than one side; the difference being how different parts responded to other sides. For example, you could have two French ships as "France Task Force 1" and a third ship as "France Task Force 2." France Task Force 1 is set to respond to to a potentially hostile side as Neutral, but the second task force (the one ship) has a loose cannon for a captain...he's set on Hostile, to model him panicking and shooting first even though it is against orders. He gets played by the AI. Since the two French task forces are Friendly to each other, I imagine one shooting at a supposedly neutral power and then perhaps getting shot at in return might cause some confusion. By using generic names like Task Force 1 and Task Force 2, it does not reveal whether there is any difference (i.e., the two task forces are a red herring to make you watch them more carefully) or if you have a potential time bomb sitting in the middle of your operation. Any thoughts on this?
  21. There may still be a few surprises waiting for you when you try to take out the base itself. And I'm not sure how the new set-up of subs will act, but I think it will be a bit tougher than the last one...a different group of subs is out there now. Let me know how it turns out. Mark
  22. I just learned about the HUD-4, so I am reposting some requests for the HUD3 here. I'm not sure if I did the icon thing right. * Malaysian Lekiu class frigate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lekiu_class_frigate => already in the database, platform listed as 30 Lekiu * German Braunschweig class corvette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braunschweig_class_corvette => already in the database, platform listed as K130 Braunschweig * US LHA-6 America http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America_class...us_assault_ship => already in the database listed as LHA-6 America * Malaysia Kedah class offshore patrol vessel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kedah_class_OPV => already in the database listed as Vosper 103ft Class * Poland Projekt 621 (Gawron class) corvette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gawron_Class => already in the database listed as 241 Gawran * Germany F125 class frigate Germany http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F125_class_frigate => already in the database listed as F 225 von der Tann (Klasse 125) * Germany Sachsen class frigate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sachsen_class_frigate => already in the database listed as F 219 Sachsen (Klasse 124) Well, that's probably enough for now. Thanks for considering them! Mark
  23. Sorry, Tony, I simply had not realized the new database was called the HUD-4. I'll repost in that thread. Thanks. Mark
  24. Hmmm...the Wish List discussion thread seems to have vanished (or maybe it was just merged with this one). Fortunately, this is also a "wish list" thread, so I'll just post them here... (It's possible a couple of these are repeats that I just missed...apologies in advance...of course, it's probably better to mention a worthwhile platform twice than leave it out by accident...) (And, yes, I know these will probably NOT make it into the next version of the HUD database, but I figure you have to at least get the ball rolling if you want to see something show up eventually.) * C-21 Learjet (aka "Something to Protect") * Very minor suggestion for the Beachcraft B200...is there some way to mention that this was commonly known as the "Super King Air" (as opposed to the B100 King Air)? * Iranian submarine Fateh class http://www.payvand.com/news/11/oct/1053.html * Malaysian Lekiu class frigate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lekiu_class_frigate * Several different versions of the Super Lynx appear to exist; only the Type 99 is in the database. Are the others similar enough to the Type 99 that they are not needed? (It looks like they are, but I thought I should mention it). * Brunei Nakhoda Ragam class corvette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakhoda_Ragam...e_Patrol_Vessel * Singapore Formidable class frigate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formidable_class_frigate * German Braunschweig class corvette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braunschweig_class_corvette * Finland Hamina class missile boat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamina_class_missile_boat * Norway Skjold class patrol boat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skjold_class_patrol_boat * US LHA-6 America http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America_class...us_assault_ship * Russian Borei class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borei_class_submarine * Malaysia Kedah class offshore patrol vessel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kedah_class_OPV * Poland Projekt 621 (Gawron class) corvette http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gawron_Class * South Africa MEKO A-200 Valour South Africa http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valour_class_frigate * Germany F125 class frigate Germany http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F125_class_frigate * Germany Sachsen class frigate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sachsen_class_frigate * South Africa Heroine class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heroine_class_submarine * Turkey Gur class submarine (or is this just an updated Preveze class?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_209_submarine * Spanish S-80 class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-80_class * Russian Sukhoi PAK FA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_PAK_FA * Indian Sukhoi/HAL FGFA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi/HAL_FGFA * Chinese Chengdu J-20 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-20 * Chinese Shenyang_J-15 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shenyang_J-15 * Russian AN-26 (aka "Something to Protect") http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-26 * Indian HAL Tejas http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HAL_Tejas * Korean KAI T-50 Golden Eagle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KAI_T-50_Golden_Eagle * Russian An-2 (one of the most common aircraft in the world...just the thing to clutter up radar in a hot spot...) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-2 Well, that's probably enough for now. Thanks for considering them! Mark
