Abnaki class tug
Abnaki class tug http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abnaki_class_tug Okay, normally I wouldn't suggest a tug, except these tugs are now used as patrol boats with various Latin American and Asian navies...normally with a 3-inch gun, some AA guns, sometimes depth charge racks depending on whose navy they're with, etc. (Bizarre as it sounds, the class might need more than one listing.) Some of them are still in service and likely to celebrate their 70th birthdays at the rate they're going! ANW HUD-4 v1b6

Subs and full realism question
You know, I was playing around with ideas and I think I found a partial solution to this... On full realism, when you create a mission for a submarine, if it is possible to do so, put ONE of the reference points in shallow water (20 m). Make sure it is right on the edge of where the depth is only 20 m. Every time the submarine goes to that reference point, it will go to periscope depth for at least a few minutes and one can give it new orders if necessary. Naturally, this involves some risk to the submarine--it could be spotted by the bad guys while it comes up to say, "Hello...anyone else you want me to kill?" And, depending on where the scenario is set, it may not even be feasible. So it is not a perfect solution, or one that can be used in every scenario, but at least it is an option that can be used in some cases. Any thoughts on this?

This is a revised version of the scenario, taking into account a few things I've learned from people over the last few weeks about setting up bases, and the ability to attack with paratroopers. -

Do we need separate platforms for the other members of the Bell family such as the Bell 204/205, the Bell 212 (non-ASW), the 412, etc.? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_204/205 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_212 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_214 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_214ST http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_412 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CH-146_Griffon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panha_Shabaviz_2-75 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_Huey_family ANW HUD-4 v1b6

de Havilland Hornet
Ah, okay, I understand now...for some reason I thought it was earlier (e.g. 1970-20..). Sorry about that. But I figured it couldn't hurt to ask about the some of the early Cold War platforms not already in the database...many of them were still in use in the 1980s, and with the various platforms already in the database, you could probably handle a fair number of scenarios for the 1970s and or even 1960s. A few extra early platforms would make it even easier. Mark

A way to handle barracks/troops
Reasonable, although I do not envy you! Eventually, we'll probably also need troops for... Argentina <-- 4th Parachute Brigade (Argentina) New Zealand <-- NZSAS Denmark <-- The Jaeger Corps (Danish: Jægerkorpset) is the special forces unit of the Royal Danish Army stationed at Aalborg Air Base Poland <-- GROM Netherlands <-- Korps Commandotroepen Norway <-- Marinejegerkommandoen Israel <-- Shayetet 13? Or some other special force? Greece <-- 1st Raider/Paratrooper Brigade (Greece) South Africa <-- 44 Parachute Regiment (South Africa) Brazil <-- Brazilian Special Operations Brigade Canada <-- Canadian Special Operations Regiment Malaysia <-- Grup Gerak Khas? Thailand <-- special forces Sweden <-- Särskilda Skyddsgruppen ...and I'm sure I've missed a few that deserve inclusion. But I suspect that is more than enough to keep you busy!

1942 Design Light Fleet Carrier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossus_class_aircraft_carrier An old design, but they served in many Cold War conflicts...a couple are in the database already, but I don't know if they were modified, etc., and whether or not the original platform should be included, too.
