Looks like you are planning on adding more mines to the database. Good! I think they will really add something to the game, especially with low level conflicts. I'll do a little research and suggest a few types of mines and minesweepers that might be included in the next version of the HUD.
  12. I was very pleased to see troops added to the HUD 4 v 1.1 b8 database. However, all of their "warheads" were set to 0 damage points. I played around a little with the editor and gave them killing power. I am tentatively setting the "warheads" at 24 damage points for the Boarding Party and 36 damage points for the other units (USMC Squad, Royal Marine section, etc.). This seems pretty reasonable, compared to damage done by other weapons and the amount of damage various targets can take before being destroyed, although I suspect the values may be revised by more knowledgeable persons than myself for the beta 9 version of the database.
  13. Resolution class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resolution_class_submarine Another British boomer worth including. ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b8

  15. Redoutable class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redoutable_cl...rine_%281967%29 Not sure if anyone mentioned these before, but they were still in service in the 1980s. The French deserve to have all their Cold War submarines represented! (Actually, this class needs two entries, as they were heavily upgraded in the late 1980s, but in the early 1980s were still in their original configuration) ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b7
  16. Not sure how this would be modeled...unlimited range and unlimited "weapons" with a range of only 0.1 miles (to model claws, jaws, tentacles, etc.)? But we should have it. How else can we recreate such classics as... "It Came From Beneath the Sea" (in which we are told that the United States Navy "is not entirely incapable of speed.") "The Giant Behemoth" (which beats the crap out of a couple of freighters before the British Navy tracks the thing down and disposes of it) "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" (which sinks a fishing boat and a lighthouse before meeting its end at Coney Island Amusement Park) Not to mention Godzilla...when he isn't trying to level Tokyo (I like that in "All Out Monster Attack" one of the Japanese naval officers does ask, "Why does he always pick on Japan?") a couple of the movies involve fairly complex battles. "All Out Monster Attack" includes a full assault by several modern Japanese naval vessels, most of which do not fare well since the film assumes that Godzilla's radioactive breath weapon has a range of a couple of MILES. It also does not help that cruise missiles appear to only hurt Godzilla enough to make him really, really irritable. (Godzilla probably needs his own special entry in the database.) 18. Quoted from Wikipedia... The Project 17A is the follow on the Project 17 (Shivalik class) frigates for the Indian Navy. A total of seven ships will be built. The ships will be built at Mazagon Dock Limited and at GRSE. The Indian shipyards would start the construction of the first ship by 2011 after the process of upgradation of the shipyards are completed. The shipyards are being upgraded to incorporate modular construction technique. The anticipated cost for each vessel is above Rs 4,000 crore (approximately US $900 million) and the total deal is expected to be worth more than Rs 45,000 crore (US $10+ billion). The vessel will incorporate the latest indigenous developed stealth features. The first ship is expected to roll out by 2015.[2] Lockheed Martin and Hyundai Heavy Industries have jointly responded to the Project 17A combat systems Request for Information (RFI) issued by Indian Navy. They are offering the Aegis Combat System to be included in its Project 17A frigate proposal.[3] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_17A_class_frigate ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b7
  19. Indian Project Project 15B (upgraded Project 15A) Quoted from Wikipedia... Project 15B (upgraded Project 15A) In January 2011, the Cabinet Committee for Security gave approval for four more destroyers under Project 15B. Even though Type 15B retains the hull form of Kolkata class destroyers, there will be changes in the superstructure that will improve stealth and include better sound and infrared suppression systems. Project 15B differs from Project 15A because of the flush deck. The flush deck improves stealth as it is smoother with less angles and corners. The displacement of each Project 15B will be approximately 7,000 tonnes. As with most Indian design, the ship will operate two helicopters. The Project 15B will be armed with the Nirbhay land attack cruise missile (1,000 km range), the hypersonic Brahmos-II anti-ship cruise missile (300 km range) and Extended Range Surface to Air Missile (ER-SAM) (100 km range).[20] In addition Project 15B may feature Barak 8 for air-defence. Except for the weaponry (which will be imported), the ship will be totally indigenous.[21] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-15B_class_d..._Project_15A.29 ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b7

Quoted from Wikipedia... F-15S The F-15S is a variant of the F-15E supplied to the Royal Saudi Air Force in the mid-to-late 1990s. Saudi Arabia had previously wanted the F-15F, a proposed single-seat Strike Eagle. Saudi Arabia sought to order 24 F-15Fs, but was blocked by U.S. Congress.[82] The F-15S is almost identical to the USAF F-15E and the only major difference in the AN/APG-70 radar performance is the synthetic aperture mode.[65] The version was initially referred to as F-15XP.[82] 72 were built from 1996 to 1998.[65] In October 2007, GE announced a contract with Saudi Arabia for 65 GE F110-GE-129C engines for the F-15S in a contract worth over US$300 million.[83] F-15SA is a new version for the Saudi Arabian Air Force. On 29 December 2011, the United States signed a $29.4 billion contract to sell 84 F-15s in the SA (Saudi Advanced) configuration. The sale includes upgrades for the older F-15Ss up to the SA standard and related equipment and services.[84] ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b7

  24. USNS Spearhead http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USNS_Spearhead_%28JHSV-1%29 It looks like they are planning on building quite a few of these. In Harpoon Commanders' Edition, you can have mines by treating them as small, immobile submarines with "torpedos" that have extremely short range. Would it be possible to do something like this in ANW? Scenarios involving mines would add a very interesting dimension to the game, especially since mines are cheap and it is a way for small or poor countries to give big or rich countries grief. One could also add mines, I guess, as a kind of torpedo, with no speed but infinite "fuel." If a ship gets too close...it goes off as it had hit the ship! But you would need minelayers to release them. But that would give us an excuse to add minelayers to the database. Any thoughts on this? ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b7
