Thanks for the quick response Brad. I googled Sharp Reconnaissance pod and came up with this. Now I just would like to smooth the interface into H4 workable terms. See if I can replicate something like that.

Three other U.S. warships were conducting anti-terror operations." How would the "intelligence-gathering missions over x" be represented in H4 terms. What sensors would be relied upon most. I can remember in the beginning of A Bridge Too Far when the low-altitude, streaking photo recon plane taking pictures missed the panzers hiding under trees. I also can think of platforms like the predominantly high-altitude MiG-25R. Would it be correct to assume that due to the relatively permissive anti-air threat, that these flights are made? Thanks,

Combat Plotter is now in version 1.0.5.6 The 0733 Tactical Turn has been run. The is no change in detection. SAG B and SAG C continue to close with their respective gunfire targets. PTG Joshan has departed Bandar Abbas and is heading generally WSW. US on station air adjusts heading to maintain relative locations. Hope to complete a couple of turns over the weekend and finally make contact.

I purchased a handful of 1980's RN/Argentinians surface and aircraft a while back, and more modern US/various. While aircraft are 1/1250 (I'm pretty certain), the ships are 1/6000. I finally got around to painting some, and last nights victims were a gaggle of Type 22 FF's. Wow, these guys are tiny. I did the hulls, no problem, did the extreme tops of the superstructure...ok. Tried to put a thin black line along the "waterline". Unreal. Luckily I'm paralleling these with 1/2400 so we'll see how that goes. Anyone else have any experience with either 1/6000 or 1/2400 ships? Correction: Combat Plotter v1.0.5.5 now in use after Tony found and corrected a problem. The 0730, three minute, tactical turn has been run. SAG B detects Sassan, while SAG C detects Sirri and Rahkish facilities. Am considering all of the USN/US forces are in a "cooperative environment" so I decided not to roll for detection of friendly units. Most were detectable by at least 2nd and 3rd ESM on board the various SAG's helos anyway. One question that comes up is whether or not Qeshm Island would create enough of an obstacle/clutter to a E-2C at medium Altitude from detecting shipping moving between Qeshm and Iran proper. I'm gaming that it does. Thanks

Scenario found on pages 21-23 of Troubled Waters by Chris Carlson. Rules being used: Harpoon 4.1 Method being used: CIC Combat Plotter v1.0.5.4 I intend to use this message thread as an ongoing report of the Operation Praying Mantis scenario that I am attempting solo, using the H4.1 rules and Combat Plotter. As of right now, all of the H4.1 data forms are completed for each class of ship and aircraft present. All platforms have been in put with speed and heading (and altitude as appropriate). The only thing remaining is to complete the aircraft fuel burn rate for the KC-10 and SuWCAP, the latter being completed as an aggregate "group". I hope to accurately potray the battle in accordance to the H4.1 rule set. Turn 0730 April 18, 1988 to be reported soon...
