Just on the off chance people didn't know about this, there is a facebook group for Command... https://www.facebook.com/groups/400225503448206/ It usually has a couple of new posts every day or so, people sharing news and/or humorous links, asking and answering questions, posting pictures of aircraft and ships, etc. Please join if you are interested!

  3. The summer is upon us, and Command's creative community is in full swing. Miguel Molina has posted a new revision of the community scenario pack, featuring a blistering fourteen new scenarios! Busy Day in Burundi, 1976: Widespread unrest has followed a sudden coup in the country, with rebel groups gaining control of military equipment. With the toll of civilian deaths increasing, an international coalition led by France and the United Kingdom has positioned itself to take action. SAS teams on the ground must cooperate with air support to hunt down rebel strongpoints. Homerun, 1956: From 1952 onwards, RB-47 recon variants of the new B-47 Stratojet bomber sta…

  6. Acclaimed by both modern warfare specialists and wargaming enthusiasts, Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations has swept the awards since its release last September, including the Usenet’s Wargame of The Year 2013 and the gold medal for Grogheads Game of the Year 2013 readers’ award. Developers Warfare Sims (www.warfaresims.com) have not rested on their laurels though as they have been working on several updates since the release of the game. These patches, including the newest 1.04 released today, have included a whole host of new features, improvements on the simulation engine and user interface, bug fixes and a veritable avalanche of database updates and additions. …

Hi Folks, Well - I only recently started messing around with Harpoon seriously - so I might as well be considered a newb... At the same time - I've also been watching many of the video's of Command with great interest... How's the AI in Command relative to Harpoon - is it substantially better ? Most of my experience playing Harpoon is USA vs USSR... It seems the USSR OPFOR - the bombers seldom seem to make any intelligent decisions... They just fly their programmed strike - even when detected - pounced on by fighters - or - even have their ranks decimated by Phoenix missles... They just don't seem to react to anything... Would the Command AI act any differently ??? …

  10. Miguel Molina has released a new revision of the Command community scenario pack, the compendium of Command scenarios crafted by the user community. The new release contains nine brand-new scenarios: The Old Regime and the New Nation, 1966: Franco’s regime is reluctant to abandon its colonial possessions and responds forcibly to provocations from Nigeria. This hypothetical scenario features the combat swan song of the famous He-111 bomber. Team Mysore, 2017: Tensions between India and Myanmar have continued to mount. Indian intelligence indicates that Myanmar plans to attack Indian-flagged merchant vessels. Available Indian forces, centered around the new des…

I think I might be ready to venture into scenario building for CMANO. One of probably many questions... How do you create an air mission that is tied to a surface group? Say, for example, an ASW helo patrol ahead of (and continuing with) its host ship?

  13. I'm in a bit of a quandary as to whether to buy this game or not. Whilst the price doesn't really put me off I have read in comment threads that modifications to the database are explicitly denied in the licence agreement. If this is the case then it puts me off, frankly trying out different aircraft combinations on the CVF's or different types of MPAs in future scenarios would be half the fun.... Would it not be possible to add a separate section to the ( still immutable ) database for user defined what-ifs?
