Requests/Issues
Request platform additions and changes here
Please include the following information with your request:
1. Version of ANW you are using, ex. 3.10.1
2. Version of HUD4 you are currently using, ex. 1.6.5
3. IF you are reporting an issue, provide a saved game and instructions to reproduce the issue if possible.
4. If you are request a new platform, provide information and links you think would be useful. Bonus points for giving a teaser on how you will use the platform.
5. One request or issue per thread. So ask for the DD-963 as of 1982, not the entire French Navy. For the French Navy you would post a number of requests for individual classes.
6. Periodically, finished items (,
, and some
) will be moved to the archives
When you make a new request, please set the topic icon to
The maintainer will set it to when the request/issue has been fulfilled/addressed
If you see the request is refused
Any player who has tested the change can post to that effect and request that the icon be set to
Ideally the reporter will also test and then set the icon to
Naming conventions:

Crime/offense-related units have the "CRIM" tag.
Soviet/Russian ships name is preceded by the Project number.
PRC ships have their name preceded by Type number.
NATO units are preceded by the Pennant number.

ANW 3.10.1 HUD3 1.6.3 I would like the Super Tomcat-21 added to the HUD4 along the lines of the "Tomcat 21" section at http://www.topedge.com/alley/text/other/tomcat21.htm Service years should be 1990 - 2025 Missile loadouts to include AIM-152 AAAM per http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/sys...itions/aaam.htm I would like to use this platform in a scenario pitting the actually built F-14 against a prolonged Cold War alternate universe F-14 Tomcat 21. Thank you!

Hi there, Quick message from me to let everybody be aware of the following principles in adding platforms to the HUD4: -Platform inclusion will depend on time I can dedicate to database edition -From above come the following: the less time I spend in researches, the more platforms I can add at once. -Reality has been the keyword of HUD since the beginning, HUD4 makes no derogation to the principle. If for reason of missing data I can't add a platform, it will be merely refused or delayed if I'm convinced there will be such platform in Harpoon Master Annexes in a "near" future. -Some database integrate scores of platforms at once, but at a cost: realism. To request…

Whenever I try to use ASROCs (e.g., RUR-5s) I cannot seem to get them to fire. Other torpedos work fine, but not the ASROCs. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong (or if they were just a lemon as far as the technology goes and malfunctioned all the time in real life) or if there is a database error, but I figured I should report it. Thanks. Mark ANW HUD 4 v1.1 b10

A few minor issues that should be fixed when possible... BCVN North Carolina (both versions) <-- the text appearing is for another hypothetical class, the BCGN Alaska. I don't know if an actual description for this fictional class is available, so it may have to be changed to "Descriptive text is not available." DDGH Kimmel Flight III <-- For some reason, the text for the 550 Cavour appears. This can be changed to the text for the Flight II Kimmel: "Fictional platform. Improved version of the Kimmel destroyer class." F 100 Grenade [Type 25] [#] <-- the text appearing is for the 365 KRI Diponegoro; it appears to be a fictional European frigate clas…

500 lb. Moored Mine "The moored mine is the backbone of modern mine systems. They are deployed where water is too deep for bottom mines. They can use several kinds of instruments to detect an enemy, usually a combination of acoustic, magnetic and pressure sensors, or more sophisticated optical shadows or electro potential sensors. These cost many times more than contact mines. Moored mines are effective against most kinds of ships. As they are cheaper than other anti-ship weapons they can be deployed in large numbers, making them useful area denial or "channelizing" weapons. Moored mines usually have lifetimes of more than 10 years, and some almost unlimited. These mi…

Herman Hum pointed out that the PS Emilio Jacinto does not appear to have any fuel in its database listing, which means the ship is unable to move. This was in "Celebes Sea Slam"; I simply replaced the PS with another Philippine ship so the problem should no longer exist. I'm not sure if this was one freak event or if it is a more widespread problem (I have not found it in other ships, but I may have just missed it), but I thought I should mention it to people. Herman is cheerfully pointing out on FilesofScenShare that the HUD is "infested" with errors. Here is the link... http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/FilesO...re/message/1607 Admittedly, I am usi…

I tried to place the SA 321G Super Frelon (and the variants, the SA 321 Ga and the Chinese Zhi-8) on carriers, but they are not listed as carrier-capable aircraft (i.e., they don't show up in the list of aircraft that can be added to a carrier). I suspect this is a database issue, so I figured I better report it. Thanks! ANW HUD 4 v1.11

A number of Chinese aircraft are variants of Soviet ones... Y-7 transport <--> An-24/An-26 Y-5 transport <--> An-2 Shaanxi Y-8 <--> An-12 Y-14 <--> An-26 Are these different enough that they need their own entries? Mark ---- ANW HUD 4 Official Release

Cannon class destroyer escort https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannon_class_destroyer_escort "The Cannon class destroyer escorts were built primarily for ocean anti-submarine warfare escort service during World War II.....After the end of World War II the United States Navy transferred many ships of the Cannon class to other navies." --Wikipedia Some Cannons are already in the database (as the Philippine PF-78), but I was not sure if the Greek and Uruguayan ones (which served until about 1990) needed to be added, too, or if they are all the same (same sensors, same weapons, etc.). Quick question... I don't mind going through the HUD-4 and identifying the ships for which the descriptive text is missing or incorrect (or, at least, doing as much as I can). I don't even mind finding appropriate text in various databases, online sources, etc., and posting the information so that Gunny can update the database more easily. However, I wanted to find out if there are any restrictions on using certain sources. Can the descriptions from the Harpoon Encyclopedia (http://www.harpoondatabases.com/Index.aspx) be used? That would seem a logical choice, but I did not know if there were any restrictions on using that information. Thanks in advance…

North American P-51 Mustang http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_P-51_Mustang "The Dominican Republic (FAD) was the largest Latin American air force to employ the P-51D, with six aircraft acquired in 1948, 44 ex-Swedish F-51Ds purchased in 1948 and a further Mustang obtained from an unknown source. It was the last nation to have any Mustangs in service, with some remaining in use as late as 1984." ANW HUD 4 v1.1b9

Fletcher class destroyer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fletcher_class_destroyer http://www.destroyersonline.com/usndd/classflet.html ANW HUD-4 v1b5 I'm going to post a few older platforms that saw use into the 1960s and 1970s, suitable for Cold War scenarios. I'm not sure if all the FRAM versions of these ships are all the same, etc., so perhaps there is no need to add the extra platforms...

Redoutable class submarine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redoutable_cl...rine_%281967%29 Not sure if anyone mentioned these before, but they were still in service in the 1980s. The French deserve to have all their Cold War submarines represented! (Actually, this class needs two entries, as they were heavily upgraded in the late 1980s, but in the early 1980s were still in their original configuration) ANW HUD 4 v 1.1 b7

Buckley-class destroyer escort http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckley_class_destroyer_escort Another class of World War II ships that served in a few places through the 1980s. Chile and Mexico both had ships from this class (sometimes called the "Charles Lawrence" class) in their navies in the 1980s. Not a critical addition, but might be nice to have for some scenarios someday. ANW HUD 4 v1.1 b10
