[spoilers! - obviously] After Action Report for 'Bearbaiting' A scenario by rainman 'Bearbaiting' is a new HCE scenario for the EC2003 GIUK battleset. I played the scenario from the BLUE side using GE Build 2009.076 and the HCDB database. Scenario Background Orders I am in charge of two surface groups, one centred on the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and the other on the amphibious assault ship USS America. The De Gaulle has a good number of Rafales aboard, while the America has only a handful of F-35B Joint Strike Fighters and US/Spanish Harrier II Plus types. Each group has a decent number of escorts and support vessels, and plen…

File Name: Them File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 19 May 2013 File Category: NACV Them A Harpoon Commander's Edition scenario for the EC2003 Battle for the Atlantic battleset. This scenario is designed for play by the BLUE side. It has often been the subject matter of science fiction, both in the written word and on the silver screen. An invasion of the Earth by an alien species from another world. Almost certainly superior to us in technology, just by virtue of their ability to undertake stellar travel, what has remained unknown is whether they would be hostile. That is, until now. They have arrived. This is intended to be a fun scenario, a brea…

View File Transit This is a revamp of an old scenario played in the Westpac Battleset using HCDB data base with operations revolving around a small surface group comprising RAN helicopter carrier Canberra transiting from north of Australia thru to Singapore. Air assets are available from Australia and Singapore and need to be used along with Canberra's helos to seek out and destroy hostile installations. Toolbox exercise View File A very simple scenario allowing use of exportDLL "Toolbox" (obtained from the downloads - tools/mods/... section) to practice your skills in using IFR tankers to extend the range of air groups. A couple of few simple targets at long range from your airbases make it essential to use tanker supported strike groups. Submitter donaldseadog Submitted 07/11/2021 Category WestPac

AAR Bullies Bumping Bellies I was browsing the Harpgamer download scenarios and this scenario from Rainman caught my eye, it turned out to be one of the most challenging scenarios I've played for a significant time. Many thanks to Rainman for sharing this with us. Bullies Bumping Bellies- Turkey vs Egypt 2020 In the summer of 2020, the situation in eastern Libya deteriorates to the point where Egypt and Turkey feel they have to get involved. This explores what happens next. This scenario is designed primarily to be played from the Blue (Egypt) side, and is quite challenging, even for experienced players. Also can be played from Red (Turk…

View File ASROC Action A scenario to be played by either red or blue. There are two conflict areas, one is red surface groups hunting blue sub groups, the other is red sub hunting blue surface convoy. The scenario has no deep design but is an extension from a simple scenario written to test ASROC style ASW weapons. Played in the GIUK 2003 battleset using the default game HCDB database. (HCDB 150929) The game is best played with a new beta version of HarpoonClassic vers. 2023.007 or better but should also play with the latest official patch 2022.027 from Matrix. File Name: Gates of Sorrow (Part 5 of 5) File Submitter: CV32 File Submitted: 03 Jan 2013 File Category: Middle East Gates of Sorrow (Part 5 of 5) A Harpoon Commanders Edition (HCE) scenario for the Middle East Battleset. This scenario is designed for play by the BLUE side only. This is the final instalment of the five part series that began with the scenario Threshold. With much of the Middle East now laying in smoking ruins, chaos reigns in the region. A follow up nuclear strike against Tehran, believed to have been carried out by cruise missiles launched from an Israeli submarine, has leveled that city. Most of the Russian military support deploy…

Second Taiwan Strait Crisis (versionB) View File This scenario has been written to be playable in Harpoon Classic version 2022.027 (last available Matrix Patch) and is a variation of my previous version A 2nd Taiwan Strait Crisis Escalation. Play in Westpac BS using HCCW-140314 DB. On 24 and 25 August 1958 Chinese Communist (PRC) forces and Taiwanese (ROC) forces clashed in the vicinity of Dongding Island, which the Nationalist (ROC) troops controlled. The action was seen as an attempt by the communists to land on the island. This was the only naval and amphibious landing action during the crisis. ROC had begun to build m…

Operation Plumbob II - Swineriot View File A slightly complex Study scenario designed less to be won than for data and player playstyle analysis. I've attempted to incorporate every single surface/land atomic weapon possible via the use of land, sea, and air platforms. There are some hopefully helpful prompts before Nuclear Release is granted. It's meant to be played as Blue Only, has a time limit of eight hours. The target names correlate to the distance from projected Ground Zero, so make sure you aim your aircraft for Kaliningrad's hypocenter. Finally, it really isn't fun, unless you like blowing stuff up …

With the current Russia Ukraine war I decided to step back in Harpoon time to 10 Sep 2014 and take on the CV32 scenario "Eastern Questions" The scenario description: The cease fire has been broken by the hostile actions of the pro Russian separatist rebels in the southeastern parts of Ukraine. Fighting erupted again in the last several hours. The rebels are refusing to abandon their weapons and are laying claim to the self-proclaimed regions of Luhansk Peoples Republic and Donetsk Peoples Republic for themselves. The Russians have meanwhile strongly protested the assertion that they caused the airliner shootdown, describing it as a subversive and disgusting NATO…

A friendly reminder that it is appreciated (and polite!) when you offer feedback to a scenario author when you reap the fruits of his hard work in offering up a scenario for your enjoyment. It doesn't have to be a full-fledged after action report (AAR) but a few comments about your experience can be very helpful to the scenario author, whether experienced or new to writing scenarios for Harpoon.

I've been kicking these ideas around since about 2016. I have been adding details as world events inspire my creativity. Today made me think it was time to do something. Unfortunately my real life is too chaotic to devote the necessary time to creating these scenarios. So I am offering them to anyone who wants. Here are the first four ideas for scenarios. Can anyone help? Maybe just by telling me if these ideas are workable. Thanks in Advance p.s. please forgive my (often) incoherent note style Brexit: The War of English Secession A campaign battle-set with 16 scenarios to be played in sequential order. Incidents and Acc…
