A forum for discussion of events in military history.

  1. Started by broncepulido,

A curious and detailed web site about the Vickers VC.10 and variants, with in-deep analysis of the military conversions: http://www.vc10.net/

  2. Started by broncepulido,

Looking for the rare Scarab UAV recently introduced by Brad in the DB, I've finded this beautiful web site. I remember how I was shocked from almost 40 years ago when I saw the progressive evolution of the Rutan designs in the Popular Mechanics pages, begining with Varieze and Quickie, and now, he's at the same space edge . Not strictly military history, but I'm sure it's worth of mention ... http://stargazer2006.online.fr/

  3. Some links finded recently: http://www.sa-transport.co.za/aircraft/aircraft_index.html http://www.sa-transport.co.za/aircraft/mir...af_service.html http://www.freeworldpublications.co.za/CAN...a%20Service.htm And never forget the great site: http://www.saairforce.co.za

  4. Only if some of you has missed it, an imaginative and terrible weapon: http://www.saairforce.co.za/the-airforce/w...s/33/alpha-bomb

A well know site, but ever worth of mention: http://russian-ships.info/eng/ Beware, they are more ships waiting translation in the Russian language version of the site than in the English version. Also, some boats (As SSGN Charlie II with 2x650mm TT) are descripted as on the original design, not as they were builded actually. A some chaotic site, but with very old ships and also not only Russian/Soviet types: http://www.battleships.ru/frame/by_namemalkov.html

  17. Started by Krakenheim,

Hi, The other day I was taking a look for no special reason at my old book "Kiev & Kuznetzov Russian Aircraft Carriers" by Barry Dean published in 1993 by Concord when I notice a strange radar in the bottom picture on page 28, it also appear on page 18 and on page 19 you can see its box plainly. Well for those who don’t have the book the radar (I think its a guidance radar of some sort as it have a small round dish) is in a box between the rear SA-N-3 Shtorm and the AK-276 dual 76mm gun, the box has a lead the opens to starboard and stands on two supports and when opened the radar inside pops up, the radar is only visible in a couple of pictures taken probably…
