China Submarine Exit to West Pacific

For Classic Harpoon version 2025.025, Westpac Battleset and HCDB2 170909 Database

There's two hypothesis for this fictitious scenario:

First, a change in USA focus and deployments has left no USN forces in the West Pacific region other than a sole SSN that is in transit after maintenance at HMAS Stirling, Western Australia.

Second, internal Taiwanese political change has led to a swift change in status with PRC who now have use of Taiwanese facilities and have announced a forward military presence in the smaller island countries of the west pacific to enhance their security and to protect infrastructure being provided by Chinese aid.

In an encounter a Philippines Navy Frigate has been sunk by the Chinese, the situation leading up to the sinking is unclear.

A small combined Australian and Singapore naval group is nearby with associated air units conducting combined exercises.

Played today, another demostration of a fine and funny scenario with few elements.

Chinese CV sunk with three torpedoes (and many escorts) after few hours of real time, riding out those J-15 pest!

Only strange remark, after sinking the first Chinese SSN, the other keeps running continuously at full speed towards South fleeing my SSN, and at last she changes courseEast and can catch her with one of my last two Mk48 torpedoes (after I did open the scenario editor and of course that strange course and speed was not scripted!).

Again, interesting and fun scenario, thanks Don!

I saw that high speed departure too, I wondered if it needs some testing as it doesn't seem right.

I nailed it with choppers off my surface group, while my ssn headed in to shred the carrier group.

Another thing I noted and don't remember from previous is my air defense destroyer doesn't want to fire of its long range sam, I wonder if its keeping them for possible ballistic missile attack 🙄
