February 18, 20179 yr When merging a Tanker with an air group to refuel do you:1. Merge group to be refueled with tankers2. Merge tankers to the group that needs to be refueledWhen adding tankers to an air group do you:1. Place tankers in group first and then add aircraft2. Place aircraft in to group and then add tankersI’m kind of fishing around for some info. Thanks, Eric
February 19, 20179 yr When merging a tanker with an air group (so everyone is already in the air), I am not consistent about which group plays host and which one disappears. When adding tankers to an air group I usually add the tankers first, then the other aircraft.
February 19, 20179 yr Author When I set up a new air group from a base I also add the tankers first and then the planes. Last night I looked at an air group that merger with tankers and I saw some negative numbers when I looked in the toolbox. I was wondering if maybe I merged the tankers and air group in the wrong order. I did not use the tool box Aerial Refuel module in the tool box to set up the refuel. I just launched tankers and flew them to the group I wanted to refuel and then merged the 2 groups My planes had a 0% bingo fuel just after I started refueling and stayed like that all the way back to base. I wanted to ask before I start my little tanker scenario.
February 24, 20179 yr That sounds like a toolbox bug do you have a game save? what did the negative values relate to? were all units capable of In Flight Refueling? Was it the group or each unit that showed 0% bingo? If you are a significant distance from base (and using in flight refueling) you might be better off looking at cruise range rather than % bingo because some units will be at 0% bingo when you need to refuel. Generally it doesn't matter which group joins which except if there is more than one tanker unit the refueling will be done by the first tanker unit, so if there were tanker units in both original groups then their order in the final group will vary.
