June 20, 201511 yr I'm sorry to ask this, since it may have been answered before, but the search option didn't return any results. How does refuelling actually work in HCCE from the logistic point of view? Does it matter if I let one tanker refuel 10 aircraft or if I use 2 tankers for that job? Apparently tanking would happen faster with 2 tankers, but does that influence the range gained by the refuelling aircraft, ie does a higher tanker / refueled aircraft ratio increase the total range of the refueled aircraft? Thank you for your inputs. Cheers, Alex
June 24, 201511 yr The 10 tanker approach should make the tanking happen faster. If the 2 tankers had enough fuel to refuel everyone though then there is a neglible range difference. Tanking is being heavily overhauled and modified these days so this answer will change with the next build. At that point each tanker will be able to offload fuel multiple times until the tanker has no more fuel to offload. Donaldseadog will work magic that takes it even farther via an add-on to the game.
June 25, 201511 yr Hi Alex The best way I've found to extend the range is to have two or more (as needed) separate tanker units in the main group or to send a group that is tankers only along the same path as the main group (also with a tanker). With the separate tanker ony group you may have to set the speeds so that both groups fly in close proximity.
June 30, 201510 yr It's also a good idea to make sure that if you're conducting a ferry operation, the relevant A/C are set as Ferry loadout, otherwise it can be quite embarrassing.
