July 12, 201213 yr Greetings, I have been working on a few scenarios in the Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa region and have seen there is a lack of any airfields in the HUCE DB for these areas. While I was driving into work this morning and idea hit me - INTL Arfld Lg and INTL - Arfld Sm. Like any other unit in the new group, they can be placed anywhere. Basic numbers could be assigned for their air defense and any additional SAMs can be separately placed around the units. Large airfields could handle all large fixed wind aircraft, while the small version would only be capable of suppporting VSTOL and helicopters. I believe this would be a very beneficial addition in the next HUCE DB upgrade.

July 12, 201213 yr And also employed in many scenarios , as in: http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=691 http://harpgamer.com/harpforum/index.php?a...mp;showfile=627
July 12, 201213 yr Author Well, blast! I thought I had come up with a new inovation. I can now add some air asets to my first BRICS scenario. Thanks, for pointing me in the right direction - just another reason why this board ROCKS!!!!!
July 14, 201213 yr Author Hey guys, I could find an entry for INTL Airbase. Could someone point me in the right direction.
July 15, 201213 yr Hey guys, I could find an entry for INTL Airbase. Could someone point me in the right direction. In the 'Installations' Annex, under 'INTL' for country, then 'Airbase'.
July 15, 201213 yr Author Okay, I have found them. How do you use them? I want to place one in Columbia, but when I select the first 'Airbase, Large No., BLU,' it doesn't appear anywhere on the screen. How do I locate it and then move it to where I want in Columbia.

How do I locate it and then move it to where I want in Columbia. For moving it, just select and use the menu "orders"/"change group position", as any other group. More difficult is to find it after placed in the map. The generic installations often are first placed out of the map (because the fixed coordinates of his placement). To find it, select in the map a visible group and use the space or the delete key, both keys change in succession the selected group in each pulsation, in opossed senses. It's easier to do it than explain it
July 15, 201213 yr Author So you have to cycle through the groups until you find it. I'll try it during my next design session and get back to you. THANKS!!!!!
July 15, 201213 yr Another embarrasin problem: when you place a generic base, and you states in the scenario description something as "Generic Blue Large Airbase CDe represents Manta, Colombia", and in the scenario making you add (or delete)a blue group, the name of the blue groups (or in the case, red groups) is rearranged, and th designation CDE can change to, as example, CDc, and the scenario description can not keep the match of the unnamed airbases (or ports, or, instalations) with his pretended names!
July 15, 201213 yr Also, when you look at the list of available airfields, you will see a "secret" airfield. This will not appear on the map until discovered by the other side. FARP's and ELINT stations are other ways to put attack/ESM assets close to the player without immediate detection.

I never knew that Enrique (or long since forgot). Thank you for mentioning it!
July 17, 201213 yr Author Hey guys, Thanks for all your assistance. I just tried placing airfield in Columbia and Venezuela and it WORKED!!!!! Thanks for all your help. Just another reason why this forum ROCKS! The first BRICS scenario is close to completion.

Just another reason why this forum ROCKS! The first BRICS scenario is close to completion. Looking forward to it! The 'secret' airfield, btw (hat tip to rainman) is useful when you want your AI aircraft or strikes to appear from an unexpected direction. Might be useful for modeling 'jungle' airstrips.
