How about something along the lines of British Carrier Group is patrolling off North Korea as part of UN sanctions against North Korea after continued nuclear testing and beligerence toward South Korea. A showdown ensues between the British Task Force and the North Korean Airforce after an F35C patrollling in disputed international airspace refuses to land at a North Korean airbase after being intercepted by NK Migs, the F35C is shot down and so begins retalitory British Air Strikes against SAM sites and the airbase that launched the attack. P.S Maybe throw in some coast based North Korean Surface to Surface missiles the NK military likes to test them!

November 15, 201015 yr Author My tests so farhave been extremely easy for us lol the NK currently have about 70 mig21's and 10 Q-5 with anti ship missiles, both of which get absolutely slaughtered. The missile boats dont even get to fire before being detected and destroyed I'm going to find some nice missiles to give them to try and even the odds a bit. *edit In order to make NK have a chance of penetrating the F-35's they would need more than their entire air force to take out 1 carrier. Considering this I believe we need to consider a Chinese assistance scenario

Considering this I believe we need to consider a Chinese assistance scenario Well Chinese intervention gets interesting, you could go for the land based option of the Xian H6 which is a Chinese licensed .TU16 Badger Bomber. Or another option would be a Chinese carrier group centred around possibly the ex Russian Kuznetsov Class the Varyag with the SU33 as a carrier borne strike group.

November 16, 201015 yr It's worth having a look at the Strategic Defence and Security Review for stuff on British forces; we might want to do a hypothetical Type 26 FF at some point. The current plan is F-35C for the carriers; only 12 normally with the capacity for 36 if the situation demanded it. It might be an interesting idea to catch them with 12. With the recent deal with the French too, there's the possibility of a Rafale squadron being on there as well; perhaps CdG is down for yet another refit. 12 and 12 would seem a good mix.

Current plans are: -To reorganise the Chinese carrier group to a more realistic one (needs research) -Add 4 E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes to British Carrier Group -Add some land based missiles for north Korea -Reorganisation of NK airforces + possible increase in numbers -Change carrier loadouts to represent realistic (I.E not all AtA) -Better the briefings/write better storyline -Add merchant ships -Improve Korean land air defence distribution (Only did basic research on Korean SAM defences) More as I think of them/are mentioned! November 20, 201015 yr Author So far its quite a challenge, I often loose a frigate/destroyer to a missile boat. The airforce battle is quite one sided though (however I recently forced the Chinese carrier group to play a larger role - not sure how well they will do!), though I havent tested much with the reduced number of fighters. p.s. I've tried to make this harder rather than easier, so it may need some scaling back yet! and is NOT finished.
