Requests/Issues
Request platform additions and changes here
Please include the following information with your request:
1. Version of ANW you are using, ex. 3.10.1
2. Version of HUD4 you are currently using, ex. 1.6.5
3. IF you are reporting an issue, provide a saved game and instructions to reproduce the issue if possible.
4. If you are request a new platform, provide information and links you think would be useful. Bonus points for giving a teaser on how you will use the platform.
5. One request or issue per thread. So ask for the DD-963 as of 1982, not the entire French Navy. For the French Navy you would post a number of requests for individual classes.
6. Periodically, finished items (,
, and some
) will be moved to the archives
When you make a new request, please set the topic icon to
The maintainer will set it to when the request/issue has been fulfilled/addressed
If you see the request is refused
Any player who has tested the change can post to that effect and request that the icon be set to
Ideally the reporter will also test and then set the icon to

Project 1153 OREL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_1153_OREL "Project 1153 Oryol (Russian: Орёл, Eagle) was a planned 1970s-era Soviet program to give the Soviet Navy a true blue water aviation capability. The ship would have been about 75-80,000 tons displacement, with a nuclear power plant and carried about 70 aircraft launched via steam catapults. It was designed with a large offensive capability with the ship mounts including 24 vertical launch tubes for anti-ship cruise missiles." --Wikipedia Another "what if" platform...this one has some really interesting possibilities...imagine if the Soviets had built, say, two of them by 1985, and then a crisis er…

Airbus A320 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A320_family Database text: One of the most common airliners in the world, with more than 5,000 built since 1988. ANW HUD 4 v1.11 (Suggested mostly because it is such a common aircraft and could easily end up as part of a scenario. The dang things are used by over 300 different airlines in pretty much every country in the world!)

Tu-444 Supersonic Business Jet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_Tu-444 A proposed platform...might have some interesting applications for scenarios...one may assume the first ones get built around 2018... Database text: Supersonic business jet employed by corporations, billionaires, and government agencies. ANW HUD 4 v1.11 -------- A recommendation for these proposed platforms (and some recent existing ones, too), by the way...obviously, in some cases, some of the information will not be necessary. Would it make sense to create a platform anyway, making a "best guess" for the details that are not known for certain, so it can at least be used i…

Northrop B-49 Flying Wing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YB-49 Another "what if" platform... Database text: "Historically, the Convair B-36 Peacemaker was selected over the futuristic YB-49 Flying Wing. If the B-49 had gone into production, however, it is possible that it would have ended up as a long-lived sister ship to the B-52, its enormous range making it an enormously practical platform. This version also assumes by the 1970s the B-49 would have been upgraded with improved avionics and the ability to launch laser-guided bombs and cruise missiles." ANW HUD 4 v1.11

Some variants of the Mirage F1 are missing from the database. I am not sure if these are different enough from existing platforms that they need to be added... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Mirage_F1 The only ones in the database are the F1-AZ (South Africa), the F1.A (JE...the version built for Ecuador?), and the F1.C200 (which appears to be the version used by France). But what about the versions built for Greece, Libya, Kuwait, and other nations? ANW HUD-4 v1.11

The database text for the Type 71 (Chinese amphibious ship) uses the text for the British LPH Ocean. Even if the two classes are very similar, this is a bit disconcerting. Recommended revised database text.... "Chinese amphibious warfare ship; normally carries one marine battalion, four landing craft, and four helicopters."

Tactical Laser [#] A new weapon that should be added to the HUD-4 for inclusion with various platforms... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Energy_Liquid_Laser_Area_Defense_System https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Tactical_Laser This would allow the addition of a new facility... ARTY Tactical Laser [#] I'm not entirely sure how big the ground facility would be, but probably something like a small artillery battery, so perhaps 50 DP in terms of how much damage it could take. The beam would not do THAT much damage, but would certainly be able to kill aircraft, missiles, ships, small vehicles, etc. Maybe a 5 DP blast? I'm not sure how many round…

The COIL laser weapon only lists missiles as possible targets. I know that it was primarily designed to kill missiles in the boost phase, but should aircraft be added as possible targets, too?

This would simply be the Russian trawler with more elaborate sensors, something like this version... http://www.harpoondatabases.com/Platform.aspx?DB=1&Type=Ship&ID=451 (It's actually a larger ship; I don't know if that is important...I don't know how big the ESM equipment is...suffice that this trawler would have some advanced surveillance equipment and would be able to rely information to task forces, etc.) ...and also with a bit more in the way of weaponry...probably at least one SA-7 SAM missile for dealing with pesky helicopters, etc. I don't think it would have mounted machine guns, but maybe an RPG or two or something else it could use to defen…
