File Name: Red Spanish Main, Juny 1986 File Submitter: broncepulido File Submitted: 03 Oct 2011 File Category: Caribbean Basin Red Spanish Main, Juny 1986. A simple and introductory scenario ... or perhaps not. Note: In this scenario, to avoid spoilers, it is better to play the US/Blue side a few times, and only after play the Soviet/Red side. 1986 was a year full of events with strategic implications, some of them very unexpected: Soviet war in Afghanistan, US retaliatory strikes on Libya against the Gaddafi's terrorist actions, Challenger disaster, launching of the Mir space station, Chernobyl atomic disaster in the Soviet Union ... Many things and alte…

AAR: Alone in the Snow Original Scenario / HDS-II GIUK HC 2002 Gold 2003.16b3 AAR by Ralf Koelbach After having failed winning its H3 ANW rebuilt (done by Herman), I tried the original HC scenario. When I started and looked at my aircraft I was shocked a little bit – no AMRAAMS. The same situation as in Herman´s “clean” rebuilt (before he made the AMRAAM-update), of course. Well, I went for it and was curious how the HC game engine would perform in contrast to the H3 ANW engine. The result was similar: In HC 2002 Gold I was outgunned to – the Sky Flash armed Gripen were wiped out of the sky by Fulcrums and Flankers. Very aggressive AI behaviour – great…

AAR: Prelude [spoiler Alert] A Harpoon Classic scenario By Christopher Stoner Most of my units had specific orders for deployment, but no particular orders were issued for the Sea King based at Labuan so she was sent to Swallow Reef to give them a modicum of search capability. As I was operating essentially in the blind, I ordered my only Thunderhawk and MD 500 Defender helicopters into the air for a quick look around. The Thunderhawk quickly spotted a number of PLAN ships from their distinctive emissions and was ordered to run down their lines of bearing in order to localize them. There were several surface contacts. Many turned out to be Neut…

"It gets hot" A HCE scenario written by Donald Thomas aka donaldseadog Battleset: EC 2003 GIUK Database: HCDB The scenario is designed to be played from the British = blue side. After Action Report, Part I by Ralf Koelbach Another scenario focusing on a France vs. Britain conflict. The English Channel will be the battlefield and a lot of assets are in the game. 1. First steps Since the Channel is small and easy to cross for fighter bombers, safety first is to choose. I ferry several aircraft from the Northern bases to forward ones in order to build up a fortress close to the Channel. The carrier group leaves RN Devenport and its aircraft a…

Keeping F35-As flying 1600 mile from base You just need to be organised. One of the advanced toolbox functions is control of IFR beyond the standard game functions. Automated rendezvous of AC groups, adjustable refuel amounts to individual units in your desired order, refueling of IFR tankers from other tankers, use of IFR main tank fuel for refueling (and visa versa for extended IFR tanker range), auto stop of game when IFR routines have finished all make complicated air group patrols and strikes less demanding of the players time and concentration.

Hello all, I'm trying to find time to get back into Harpoon after a long break. Has anyone done a scenario about a modern strike on Iran's nuclear ambitions? I couldn't readily find one in the downloads.

Friends, Just to let you know, I've posted a new scenario on FilesofScenShare. (Brad, please feel free to re-post it here.) It's a battle between Israel and Egypt in a fictional 1990 setting (although inspired by real historical events after the Six Day War), with Egypt getting a little help from the Soviets... Mark

"The failure to implement a comprehensive peace treaty between Japan and the Soviet Union after the end of the Second World War has acted as an obstacle to the resolution of an outstanding territorial dispute over the Kuril Archipelago. In recent years, the Russian attitude toward the issue appears to have moved toward one of consolidating control rather than giving up the territory. Now, the Russians have moved significant military forces into Etorofu, and it appears they are bent on consolidating their illegal hold. A Japanese fishing vessel has gone missing in the area of Shikotan. The Japanese Self-Defence Forces have been mobilized." Such is the backdrop for Brad…
