The following is the answer that Mr. Brooks A. Rowlett posted on the Admiralty Trilogy yahoo group in response to my question of whether there is any limitation to the effectiveness of sighting with FLIR when flying in the VLow altitude band. On Mar 30, 2006, at 9:28 PM, Pete Maidhof wrote: > I guess the idea came from limitations of AS radar vs VLow > a/c to the effect of 10% of the max range. The limitations on AS radar are from ground clutter reflecting radar signals back into the radar set. This clutter acts as random energy into the receiver and can be viewed as in effect increasing the noise level of the radar, thus requiring a much stronge…

View File Guardian (Harpoon V Jumpstart Guide) Guardian is the scenario featured in the Harpoon V Jumpstart guide. The included map is a standard SimPlot version, unlike the Jumpstart version which was modified for printer-friendly colors. All the units (ships, helicopter, and missiles) that could be used in the scenario are pre-built and ready to be imported when needed. Submitter kmart494 Submitted 05/31/2021 Category Scenarios

Hey guys my BM's were cleaning out the chart drawer today, rather than throw them all out I figured y'all might want them for some H4 scenarios...unfortunately they're mostly harbor and approach charts, but you can always add a zero and make up a new scale. Good news is I've got lots of duplicates, great for double-blind scenarios. All charts are brand new, uncorrected. Let me know what you want and I'll ship to you...just pay for the shipping and a couple bucks for my time. I'll also trade charts for painted naval miniatures, I'm trying to start a collection (just purchased Harpoon 4 paper rules!) and I'll never have the time or dexterity to paint my own. ) Ma…

https://discord.gg/t7pekGk in case anyone wants to join a fully public Harpoon 5 Multiplayer discord server. I can help you get to know Simplot2 and how to use it for double-blind games using the Discord channel. We have successfully used this method for both play by post (similar to PBEM style, submit orders, then update Simplot2 then show images then submit next turn orders) and real-time games. Discord offers both voice and video comms too for the realtime games or occasional "team" chats for Red or Blue teams. Excuse the double post to this general forum, but wanted folks to be able to find this if they want to take part. - Peter Robbins

A correct understanding of Fire Control Directors with Cmd guided SAM's from the yahoo admiralty trilogy group. > HHQ-7 has Type 345 Castor II Fire Control Radar. A correct understanding of Air Intercept Radars with inherent Surface Search capabilities under the Smarter (and Simpler) Radar rules found on the Admiralty Trilogy yahoo group. So in summary, for the UK Blue Fox, I can utilize, separately, the Air Intercept and Surface Search capabilities per the High Tide Data Annex as the Air Intercept data is identical for the Blue Fox in both the "Smarter Radar" and High Tide while the Surface Search data is apparently missing from "Smarter Radar".

While perusing the Harpoon flames on Usenet I ran across a post by a gentleman sharing his large ruleset for WWII warfare. Honestly I've only read the Operational level Naval rules but they are well enough assembled and thought out and I feel confident in suggesting them as at least a curiosity to the paper gamers here. http://ww2thebigone.webs.com/ the Usenet post (that topic always gets me to read!) http://groups.google.com/group/comp.sys.ib...9d951d72bec77d#

During and following the "French Connection" I have been reading up on the rules, and individual ideas in the yahoo admiralty trilogy group, for more insight into such air-to-ground attacks. 6.3.5 Air Attacks on Land Targets opens with specifically "Air attacks against ground targets are resolved in the same way as those against ships." As pointed out in some of the yahoo AT threads, this seems to lend itself to come up with a table for attacks on such targets, weighting the chance of hits based on the number and size of target found on the General Attack Table. Mention of the General Attack Table seems to indicate an ability to go ahead and target point target…

In accounting for all the data for Send In The Marines, Harpoon Naval Review 2003, lists the LHA, LPD, LSD, CG, DDG, SSN, AH-1W, AV-8B II. I located the CH-53E on page B24 of the H4.1 Data Annex and the B-52G on page B21 of the H4 Data Annex. After reviewing those two annexes, and HNR 2003, 2000, and 1997, I have not been able to find the data on a CH-46E or UH-1N. Can anyone refer me to the appropriate annex, perhaps I even missed it in one of the pubs that I have looked. Also, would there be a problem with using 4.0 data on an aircraft not found in the 4.1 data annex? Thanks, Pete
