Thanks! this is something that has been in the back of my mind since the first Harpoon iteration, I can assume therefore that their sound signature doesn't include the time they would be snorting?

That's actually a good question. I don't think there is any 'boost' to the sonar base source level (BSL) during the time that a diesel-electric is at periscope or surfaced, but the code does have some peculiar quirks.
