June 4, 200818 yr Well, I finally got the new Harpoon (HCE). So far, I'm very impressed. A couple of questions... First, it seems like you can only load one extra battleset (South Africa, etc.) at a time. All the files use the hdsu.res and hdsu.rsr files and each time you load a new one, it replaces the last one. The scenario files remain, but you need to restore the appropriate map to play it, I guess. (I tried changing the file to something like hdsv.res, but it didn't work.) Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Second, how do you get AI subs to move in the scenario editor? Do you set a course, and THEN set a speed, or what? So far, they just sit where I put them. (I can get them to move by using the formation editor, but all they do is patrol a region; they won't go from Iceland to France on their own or anything like that.) Third, why is there still a hole in New Guinea? Thanks. Mark
June 4, 200818 yr Tony would be the man to answer your first question, although I believe you can only load one at a time. As t question 2, lay out the course you desire for your sub first. Then, select your unit, open the Enter Group Course dialog again, and make sure you've selected point 0, which should be the group starting position. Now, with the dialog still displayed, pull down the Orders menu again and set the Depth and Speed. You can also order Depth and Speed changes along the group path by moving the selection point to the desired location on the path, and entering your orders. You can also enter sensor orders along the path using this same method. I have to admit, I found this a little confusing myself at first, but eventually you'll do it without noticing. Hope this helps, Buddha
June 4, 200818 yr Congrats Mark on your purchase, all HC players should benefit from your purchase, especially if the new scenarios keep appearing from you True, in 2008.024 only one extra battleset can be loaded at a time. We reserved four slots for extra user-made battlesets but only made one available in 2008.024. We also left four spots for official battlesets which may or may not be included in the next patch. I'm considering waiting on both of those accounts until a later patch when we modify file formats in a fashion that will allow more precise linking of saves and scenarios to battlesets. So help is on the way, the question is whether there will be an interim improvement before the more distant big improvement. AI subs, I set a speed, then I create a course, at the first course point I set the speed again (I think you can skip setting the speed outside of the course dialog as it is not needed if you enter the speed as soon as you open the course editing dialog). I can't speak to the third question for national security reasons
